    That's the problem with Zerg.
    You can't build defence to compensate. Forget Ballista and Catapults. Level 9 walls won't stand up to the mathematical firepower of Archer zerging. We don't build characters in Evony. We build cities. Yet we have no way to protect those cites from core game mechanics. It's why I only have one city. They will get max, 10 hrs of resources from me. They wont get my level 9 research, they won't degrade my building levels. I'm not going to build big marshmallow cities so short sighted meatheads can destroy them. Not on the agenda and I don't suggest anyone else does either.

    Like i said, even though we may have SOME anti-siege weapons, castles are meant for easy defending, so more unites like Ballista would be good, it would also be nice if they would fix the rocks and logs, i agree with you there but, again, castles are suppose to be fortresses, not easy to take at all. Although, it would make the game harder, it would also make people wanna build a much bigger army.

    I voted for good, even though I can deal with it. Castles were suspossed to be very defensable, but I guess the 125k attack limit vs the as many as you can feed defense limit, deals with this. Still, more possible commbinations is good.

    I am still trying to figure out why we can't build defensive siege.

    I think what people are looking for is something besides the exploitable, infantry based defence mechanism.

    Even that I would be happy with if I could create a realistic army.

    50K warriors
    20K Swordsmen
    10K Scouts
    10K Pike,
    20K Archer
    10K Cavalry
    5K Cataphract
    5K Ballista
    5K Catapults.

    To me, that's a smart army. Here, it's going to get wiped out because they all chased after 10 Cavalry while 200,000 guys with bows 'sneaked up' in the other direction.

    This sort of thing migh have worked in Smokey and the Bandit but not in reality. I think what people are looking for are mechanics that emulate common sense.

    FIrst No rockfalls and falling logs are anti troops weapons that would have normaly been dropped from walls not used on ranged seige engines.

    I am not sure how much work the code monkeys would need to do but one possibly viable option is to allow the seige engines that are in a defending city to engage without have the gates open. The idea of acounter battery goes back to well before the advent of gunpowder.
    As I mentioned in a seperate post though there is a massive differnce between a seige and a raid on a city. Raiders tend to be fast moving cavalry and infantry wiht little or no desire to inflict or take damage. They would prefer to in fact get in and get out with as much as they can for as little as they can. Siegers are intended to take the city.

    Before the update, 50k ballista could kill 300k archers with the one of everything defense, but ballistas were nerfed as well.

    OK heres some history for you all- Ballistas were mainly used as anti siege weapons!!! SO WHY cant I mount them.hmmm there meant for defenses not attacks. Look up what they are used for. Catapults and Trebuchets are for attacking ballista are support weapons to the other siege weopon...

    Actauly they where mostly used to break heavy calvalry and infantry. Though the romans where known to use stone in them as well.


    Hmmm another tangental idea Trebuchet's as a seige weapon and ballisats as an anti seige.
