i've done unmediated child birth and a kidney stone (lucky me not in the same year) and i can tell you. the stone was much worse on the pain scale. and there was no euphoric moment to make it all worth it. "congratulations its calcified goo" doesnt have the same effect as "congratulations its a *gender of child here*"
no one who has had a kidney stone will ever say someone else who has had one and cried over the pain was in any way weak.
