    Hello Aero, have read quite a bit of your material as I am thinking of trying a 14 - very impressive work. Mapped out a capture today and it seemed pretty clear - but I decided to do a test wave just to be sure. Have had some unpleasants surprises with Hcs in the past .

    Well I got another one - the combo was Pike/Phract/Rams and I hit with 99500 pikes and 500 cav (I'm Compass 9). Hero was 97th with 350 ATT and 69 INT, war horn and corselet activated.

    The spreadsheet suggested that there would be c. 30k phrax killed - but as you can see from the report, it wasnt even close.

    Could it possibly be the walls - which were not reduced - that altered the outcome? Doesnt seem possible, but can't think of anything else - am I missing something obvious?

    no quite sure how you killed that many... cav hold back the enemy phrax and it turns into a fluke situation where in round 3 enemy phrax have the range to hit your pikes and your pikes cant hit their phrax (they stand 75 spaces apart and phrax have 80 range while pikes have 50)

    im showing no kills for this on my updated version


    also not sure how it lasted 4 rounds so missing something here... perhaps melee units only do 20% damage when not at same location, but are in range... it would account for the extra round and be pretty close on the damage

    Was using the "new AeroCalc trial - fixed movement 97-03". Added the cav to delay archers so pikes could hit phrax directly, instead of taking archer fire on round 3 (compass 9 again). When I get rid of cav the pikes lose 41k before they meet phrax, and so only kill 19k - is that what your version shows?

    Still run things on EvoCalc too (the round-by-round graphic at top is easy to follow), and it gave similar results. Am I using an old version of yours, or is there some field I have missed? Dont see how it could ever show zero kills at all - cav would certainly do at least some damage, would they not?

    Well 500 cav did like 150 kills but 0 damage from pike

    And the version on this thread is outdated

    On my version it shows my pike being at 1710 on round 3, with range to 1760, and defending phrax being at 1875 with range to 1795 - after killing cav. Archers are at 4200 with to 1860 - so they cant hit the pikes either, and then on round 4 the stacks meet.

    BTW, I simply added 20% to hero attack for war horn - cant see where else to account for that, nor corselet?

    Ah - so how do I get the updated version? Am pretty reluctant to try this 14 without some sort of clarity on outcomes.

    do you not have compass 10?

    because they should only be @ 1710 if you have compass 9
