How many chinese restaurants can you find that actually care about your "experience* of dining at their establishment? Very, very few. They're there to serve you food, and get your money; that's it. They don't share the north american philosophy of treating your customers right, or focusing on the atmosphere/experience. This is what they fail to understand: repeat customers can be an incredible source of income.
You have obviously not been to a real chinese restaraunt. The places you infer are most likely the equivalent of eating at a fast food place or strip-mall chain. Both great examples of "excellent" customer service (lol) by high school and college students who would rather fart on your food than serve you.
