    Default Toooooooo many flats

I am here to say that there are far too many flats in age2!
What do they do? how can they possibly be a good part of the game?
yes there needs to be open flats for people to port around and have fights and also to build cities... but c'mon!!! for a start there are not enough npc's and there are no where near enough valleys! I know people complain about the npc sweeps that evony do and i myself miss having my own npc field but thats the way they rolling and i can deal with it no problem. But look how much of the map is just wasted!! trying to find a lake in my state is like looking for rocking horse poo! its the same with forrests and hills. what harm would it do to put a few more permanent npc's dotted around? i'm not talking the silly amounts we all used to build in age1, and there really needs to be more valleys......valleys are so rare right now, the ratio of how many valleys there are per flat can't be that high. if there is to be no more permanent npc's please put some more valleys around so i dont have to go looking for lakes in the next state!

What does anyone else think? do we need more lakes/forrests/hills in place of a certain % of flats?

Could remove swamps/grasslands for lakes since they are the less effective versions of the same thing

stuff the lakes if they give us back npc's then we wouldnt need them, but i agree there are too many flats now

Had to re-read that, this concerns age II not age I.
All age I servers have had 100's of npc's cleared because there was no space.

    Anyway back to OP.

I'm not an age II player so I'm very unfamiliar with the mechanics, but it seems that you still need npc's to strengthen your cities. Having more valleys only increase the resources that they provide, so I would say more permanent npc's would be the way to go here.

Thanks to Infinitus for the epic B'day pressie!

oh i agree.....if there were more npcs people would not feel the need to have so many lv10 food citys which they fill with lakes.....but still the amount of flats that are open is just a waste of map space.and there are not enough valleys right now so if the flats were filled with citys there would be no valleys for those citys so.....yes you see where i going with this lol

I think the idea with less valleys would be to make people fight pvp more for control of the valleys. But since reinforcing valleys takes a march slot in rally point and also increases troop upkeep it makes it silly to reinforce valleys fulltime. valleys not reinforced you can just hit em with 1 scout n capture em. But then you can lose em easily this way so it not an exciting way to fight. Seems kinda petty taking valleys. So since empty valleys are scarce we either have to take em from other peeps and risk them being taken back or look for empty ones which there aint hardly any.

but yeah like OP says seems like a huge number of empty flats atm and i'm on na3 which an old age2 server and dont look like many new players will be joining. I think evony over-estimated the player numbers slightly.
We look forward to implementing more player suggestions in the future, because in Evony, you rule!

It's semi-retarded in a way. Yes reinforcing valleys take up a rally spot so in a sense you're making players fight over valleys then fight each other by limiting the number of valleys. Sounds like a boring game to me!
