Yeah, I read about that the other day. I was surprised to hear it. I think it is very very sad that a young woman, not even out of college, was the only applicant because everyone else was scared. What makes it so sad is that mature police adults are willing to put this young woman in harms way because of fear. I want to smack every man AND woman over 30 who serves on the police force. Why? Because when they decided to be a police officer they decided to take the risk of the job with it. Not just collect a government check and sit behind the desk.
It's like, when you agree to be a sherrif or deputy then you need to man up and take the risk as well as the reward. And when a gang rides into town with six shooters you need to stand up, be smart and do your best to neutralize the situation even if it means making a deal with the gang so more do not get hurt. Or playing smart so more do not get hurt. Like calling in the military to deal with the problem and keep your hands clean in the eyes of the gang.
A bunch of sad and useless police officers if you ask me. Can't believe no police officer stepped up to the plate and allowed a 20 year old to who is not even a police officer.
