Thread: Consequences

  1. #1

    Default Consequences

You guys realize that nerfing the ballistas so quickly came at least partly as a response to so many players manuacturing Barbarian cities. It was make NPC farming impracticable or have the entire server polluted with impossible-to-kill NPC's. Not surprising the Devs too steps.

Every time you guys make a spiteful effort to work around and get your beloved freebie-farms back, the devs will stop you. It's just that simple.

My advice is stop trying to stretch the rules as far as they can go and jost enjoy the game. If you stop bending the rules past the breaking point you won't be as ***'d over when the devs close the loopholes you're using to try to get to the top.

Personally i think it just shows how stupid the devs are and the game is that they have to make the already flawed combat mechanics EVEN worse to 'balance' the game and 'fix' exploits.

Yea...cause now everyone will only make level 5 BARBs, since they have no rockfalls....genuis.

They weren't LOOPHOLES...they were game mechanices!

Longer range = kills defense before dying. WTF is wrong w/ that?
Maybe the Barbs needed to get some ballistas themselves, or hell...catapults?

With all due respect to the OP, I disagree.

There were FAR better ways to prevent people from spamming and ballita farming NPCs. You could give the NPCs large numbers of Cataphracts. Also, when cities are abandoned, make them turn into a flat instead of another Barb town.

But this change to the battle mechanics - having ranged units keep advancing even after they're already in range - is beyond retarded and defies all logic and realism.

I'm sick and f*cking tired of everyone complaining about loopholes being fixed. Game mechanics are not a loophole. I loophole or bug is when you can dupe your army by sending it out right before the server reset, or some similar feature. Using more advanced units and tech to overcome a weaker opponent(in this case a Barb) isn't a "bug." If they need to make the barbs harder, they can add some more advanced units...I see no reason a level 10 Barb should only have 400k warriors..the weakest unit in the game.

Stop calling game mechanics a "flaw."

These fixes are terrible and tearing apart the game.

You mean like attacking massively fortified, heavily garrisoned cities with unescorted siege engines without casualties?

    You want to leave? Go.

No, seriously. Go. Adios. So long. Farewell. Don't let the door hit you and all that. I won't miss you and it will mean I won't have to listen to you snivel.

Before you make such high and mighty comments you may like to consider how much this 'broken fix' has now broken other parts of the game.

    a) Players who have not yet got all the medals they need have been badly hit as they are going to find it hard to get high end medals.

    b) The big player cities that have 14K Towers and 2K rock are just about untouchable so only the smaller players are going to get hit in the coming panic to find resources.

    c) Players how have not yet got the 200+ attack/production lvl heros are going to find it very hard to create such heros while the big players get to keep theirs.

    d) Big players are likely to find that they can use very large armies of Rams to get the same results, which is something smaller players will have problems matching as they do not have the same number of cities to produce resources at.

A good fix does not cause more problems across the rest of the game. As I have all of the above in place this change could be seen as an advantage as it limits the number of players I have to worry about in the game. In truth it's more likely to cause people to give up so the game/server just dies off.
