Okay, before I give my answer, I've got to say one thing: There is something that I'd work that hard for, and not get paid for. That's being a volunteer for a cause I believe in. Just chiming in on that "Of course not!"

Now, for the topic at hand: Because we have been brought up in an attitude today that we, as people, are never at fault, personally. We've been taught to blame something or someone other than ourselves. If it's praise, then yes, we accept it for ourselves. Blame, we give to others. Plus, we expect our children to know wrong from right already, so they can't be wrong, either.

Edit: Continuing: The media, since it's a babysitter to our young today, gets blamed because it is so good at it's 'job'. No one wants to do boring homework while stuff is exploding on TV! Good grief, which would you rather watch, if you're a kid, UFC, or the State of the Union address? Or the sweeps week on Public Broadcasting? And, games that are 'wholesome' rarely have the same plot grip intensity of Grand Theft Auto, or the sheer flexibility. And, hey, if you make a good case, you can sue the media and get rich! What is the downside?

Special Props To Don Ezio for this!
