On an old server you can only hope to beat the best, on a new server you hope to BE the best. It's a little bit more attractive and from a business standpoint, it's genius. Also very exploitative of their customers.
But we don't know that. How do you or I know if new servers were stopped then Evony would make less money? That is an unexplored area that nobody knows, not even Evony. But I am willing to bet my boots that monies would start to rise even further if new servers were stopped. Why? Because I am average Joe Gamer and I spend more money than most. Why? Because I can game on a server and not lose my investment if I chose to do so by not owning Historical Cities. That means I WANT to spend LOTS of money on the game building up 10 perfect cities and 15 stars on my hero gear. If I had to move servers all the time because I was constantly wipped out down to only 1 city I would spend next to no money on the game, perhaps only 30-100 bucks. But so far I have spent over $3k on my 10 cities and gear and stars and strategems and other things... because I can keep building and only risk what I want to. And on older Age II servers, you can start 10 months after it opened and still be a top 50 player. Why? Because nobody can take your non-historical cities. That means you can build up to a certain point whch is very very strong.
