Thread: AgeII Dieing?

If you want to post legitimate criticism or suggestions, please don't do so by putting forward guesses about data. Age II is certainly not dying, as the number of active players continues to grow each day.

This doesn't mean your criticism is invalid, but please use logic, explanations, and reasoning instead of unfounded assertions. That's more likely to get a favorable response.

Thank you Dawnseeker... Kk. I'll try

On the Na server I play one it is fast becoming Stagnant....... with accounts being bought and sold left and right, People quiting so fast that there is Dead cities everywhere, Those who haven't quit yet have larger troop numbers requiring larger armies to break..... And to break those armies we need different kinds of troops.....
But to build those troops, march them and use them requires so much food that it is almost worthless....
HC's are loosing their focus as states become owned, players get caught with their pants down and quit, Just a few days ago we had one Alliance who's pres sold his account and the new owner booted everyone below pres from the Alliance
Multi accounts are flagrant and obvious

Most Alliances Are dead with few Active members.... Almost 0 incentives to Attack anyone as colonizing and stated before is broken.... The only good thing about colonizing it colonizing inactives for hero's........ And they rarely have any decent ones

Troop train times make preparing for any major battle a long and drawn out task..... Perhaps if troop train times were AgeI times then AgeII Server would see more battles over HC's as the faster they go....... they more people want them....... The more money gets spent to get the hero gears and stars required to take them earlier...... The more wars fought over HC's...... the more Strats and Hero items will be bought

As for food.....Without food we can not train troops, March or re-inforce..... many are at the point where farming the few NPC's they have they can not continue to make troops.... Might I suggest to combat the endless NPC fields that NPC's on AgeII Instantly regenerate res? Or 10 times faster? So instead of every 8 hours it's every hour? That way everyone can still level hero's and obtain much needed food ( Food sells higher than lumber on NA19 ) so their will be more battles? 1000 hours for 5k Pults at 700+ Attack is a bit much...... that's about 43 days..... so split that between say 15 Barracks that's still around 2 and a half days just for 5k Pults. Some Defences require upwards of 50k Pults as in some cases it is the only option to clear very very heavy layers..... Now that's 25 days training just for 1 Attack..... And that is without the Ballista as well..... So for any well defended city your looking at over 1 months training at best just for 1 wave...........
And the food for that wave to march........ upwards of that 1 wave going 1 mile is 50 mil food-75 mil food..... That's 3 level 10 NPC's just for 1 Attack...... Please PLEASE

If you are even slightly curious if this is a wide spread feeling ask the player base... send out an ingame mail to those on Na1-19 and ask for their opinions..... It's late and I'm tired and I really don't want to flame or anything like that

I just don't want to see a Game I love die through something so easily fixed.... But I am just 1 player....... And a question like this would best be answered by the many I think if you think their is a question worth asking

I would have to Agree with a number of things you said !

They honestly need to reduce the troop build times for the mechs atleast, it takes too long to get a decent number of them to attack other players with.

I agree on troop build times & colony vulnerabilities (Academy and wall tear downs). I have a 730 ATT attack hero but the build time is still a huge bottle neck on my activities.

And the population regen system is a big pain as well.

its not the challenge, its the annoyance of some features in the game.

If having food to march is a problem then take HCs so you can move food around...better yet build 1-resoucre cities like Iron or lumber and buy a buncha food off the Marketplace....

I guess suspending me for a day changed me...NOT

    Ardee, you will be missed.

I can really only offer the anecdotal evidence of my experience. I personally found Age 2 to have more life in it "per game" than Age 1. I bored of Age 1 quickly and left fairly quickly, only returning when I noticed Age 2 made improvements that I agreed with. By "per game", I mean that each server has a lifespan of its own, and there does come a point where a dominant alliance has mostly cleaned the server, and people start to quit en masse. I can only say that I've played an Age 2 server twice as long as my Age 1 server before hitting the point where I felt like I accomplished all that the server had to offer. Many of my colleagues and alliance mates are going to continue on, so I seriously doubt my server, fairly early in the life of Age 2, is close to that point yet.

Leveling up heroes has never been hard, nor has maintaining the food for an army. I've generally felt like I had a huge army, certainly compared to what I had on Age 1, which a minimal amount of hitting NPCs in range per day. Part of my success was simply finding a way to avoid having too many other people around to compete with.

Colonization does have major issues, ones that have been addressed in previous posts in this thread, and in plenty of other threads.

they really need more npc like if u make 1 they should make it stay there for 2 weeks
cause there will be spare flat as well as npcs to farm

the time for troops to be trained should be cut down to age 1 troop training times are way better then age 2

I think most growing activity in age 2 are seen from new server openings, since people quit and move to the "new" server. But, I only have the scope for NA18- which many people have left. Our Governor even left after his alliance failed a 16 hit. Something like 29M troops wasted.....

When people say age 2 is "dying" they are referring to the fun factor- hence the attack button requests.

Everyone just turtles, it's more of a simcity game then a RTS..... defending army's have always had a huge advantage when it came to defending in age1, but in age2 its beyond easymode on the 1-19 severs, I know these servers are losing players in droves b/c i'm on one of these early servers, and it's clear for everyone see.....

I'v said from day one that colonizing people is one of the dumbest things you can do. It's common knowledge that you stand to lose much more from colonizing someone then you can hope to gain, so i'm not sure why people are including food from colonys as part of there army upkeep stratagy, b/c the truth is...... having, and defending colonys is one of the worst things you can do in age2 from a strategical point of view.

As far as dawnseeker saying that evony is growing...... thats not really true.... like 90% of the people on the new servers are from older servers, and it that really can't be considered growth, other 10% maybe legitimately new people that found it from facebook or some other ad, almost no new player comes from other established MMORTS b/c the truth is..... is that many people are leaving evony for these "other" games, and they have nothing good to say about it sadly, when it comes to MMO's word of mouth from the players is the best way to grow, and age2 has a pretty bad reputation atm b/c the main strategy for half the servers is to turtle, and play simcity, and it just isn't much fun to build a huge army for months and play defense, and farm NPC's, and but thats what age2 is about, doesn't matter if the developer "intended" for NPC's to be farmed or not, the reality is they are farmed, and if you want to keep up with everyone else you have to farm them six plus hours a day or you will fall behind.
