    Default Mystery Solved? Shooting Ranges Were Increased Based on Wall Level

    I relogged into the game and, lo and behold, I saw this in the Proclamations section:

    * Shooting range of defender’s troops is now affected by the level of the walls. Higher walls give longer range.
    I suppose this is what killed all of our ballistas.

    But now it begs the point, what do we use now? Massed Rams? Cataphracts? Catapults?

    Rams are slow. 125k rams won't even make it to level 10 walls. Put one Catapult in a city with level 10 walls and the enemy will start a week and a half away.

    And defender catapults (and probibly ballista) will get a free shot in or two before yours move into range.

    The only thing I can think of is the archer meat shield. Archers are the new warriors, but no one is ever going to take level 10 walls if an army is home.
