It's called strategy, we all have the EXACT SAME opportunity. Just because you couldn't figure out how to use those opportunities or chose not to(which I don't believe for one second that someone chose not to maximize production and if you did....not very smart) does not mean that it isn't fair to you. It's a game there has to be winners and losers or it's not a game. This is no longer a game.....it's junk.

I have to disagree there, because i've got it as well and i haven't paid a single penny on this game (you probably call that cents, lol).

I think the 50 cents are a gift from 50cent... Sorry, bad joke..

No, the 50 cents probably will be for those who were already active in the early stages of Civony.

We have been looking at ways of balancing the farming of NPC cities and this is the solution that was arrived at. We believe that this is a fair method, because it allows NPCs to be attacked and plundered for resources, but not without losses, as happened before.

We want players to have methods to get large armies, but we think you'll agree that you should have to use that army in your battles and that some losses will occur. Very high level NPC cities were never intended to be easy targets for plunder, but are intended to be some of the greatest challenges in the game. It should not be a light decision on whether or not to attack such a tough target.

Thanks for understanding, and thanks for playing!
If you want to make NPC-10's very tough, and very costly that's not a real problem.

However, it makes getting the required medals very expensive. If the ratio is anything like lower level medals I would expect to be forced to attack a lvl-10 a minimum of 15 times (every attack produces a required medal) but much more likely 50+ times. each one loosing 3000+ balista's and that is just to get from 7 cities to 8. Then there is the problem of going to 9 cities and finally 10 cities.

It's called exploiting if your strategy goes beyond the range bounds of the spirit of the game. It's up to the devs to decide that and they've decided NOT in your favor. It's not too hard to tell really very often. Something are just too easy to do, or take, or win, and it ends up "simplifying the game" tosuch a degree as to make all other systems in the game bend (or be ignored) to service that one strategy. No, it is NOT "all good".
Who decides what is the "spirit of the game"???
    You?? Kempion?? Some other Sim-player??
If the Devs design a game, take it through Beta, release it, and then when a bunch of people figure out a strategy to advance, change the way the game is played, then that is NOT in the "spirit of the game."

And your second to last sentence doesn't make sense.

What better way to keep players playing? You understand this is a business first and foremost, right? Well, the idea here is to keep players playing in hopes they will spread the word about this free game. In addition, the longer players play, the more there is a chance they will spend a few bucks on coins.

    Time is on UMGE's side.

Yep, it was my call and I called it.

See, here is another example of an argument based on a faulty premise. The premise "when a bunch of people figure out a strategy" has no foundation in fact. The reality is those players were abusing an exploit. You don't want to see it as an exploit because you are used to your style of playing which has been taken away from you. I understand. I just don't agree.

It only takes a few to ruin a game for everyone. UMGE is working to prevent that. They are doing a good job if it too-as illustrated by the vile words and references being screamed at them from players who, in any real life context, wouldn't open their mouths to say an ill word about someone to their face. It's all too easy to be a jackass online when you have teh cloak of anonymity to hide behind.

So you are the guardian of the "Spirit of the Game?"

And I do agree that you should know how easy it is to be a jackass online. You do it with an unusual flair.

You call it abusing an exploit. I call it playing the game the way the Devs designed it. If they have a poor design, don't blame me. You apparently have no ability to explore different styles of play.

    I am the Zeitgeist, yes.

It took years of practice to achieve my level of jackassdom.

Again, you choose to ignore the obvious and any perspective other than your own.

Absolutely, the devs set out to design a game which could be broken. That is very observant of you. In fact, the exploit was a fast and easy way to build massive armies without any need for player-created support. The complaints are coming from players who wanted to keep their "ez-mode" button and from griefers who choose, not to learn new strategies (if that were the case, you would be doing that instead of flaming the devs on the forums), but to break the game and ruin the fun for as many people as they possibly can.

Every premise you have presented has been wrong.

Awwwww, don't be so harsh on yourself. You're not a jackass, you're merely the pivotman for the dev circle jerk!
