Thank goodness they actually try to fix the game, removing unintended exploits. Frankly anyone with half a brain knew a fix was coming.

WARNING up front!!!! This is my frustration being let out on the **MOD EDIT** who keep doing stupid **MOD EDIT**

Who the flying **MOD EDIT** would do something so stupid in a LIVE server. BETA... is to be the TEST server you **MOD EDIT**. Ive eatn your **MOD EDIT** stained sandwitches for too long.. Lag, missing gold, missing resources, missing qued armies and buildings, cant log on, being booted form the server, some of the crappiest loot from the Wheel. Now you go and waste 2 weeks of my time??????

I spent well over 2weeks Quein ballistas and Captureing, making Flats into NPC lvl 8s and 9s because you dingdongs decided to nerf food!!! So I do the usual, get up, shower, log on, send 4 waves of ballistas to get my daily food, go to work. COME HOME TO THIS **MOD EDIT**!!!! GET YOU HEADS out of your **MOD EDIT**!!! You can not make everyone happy. Stop listening to the MINORITY (new to the server) they came late, they will be destroyed, end of story move the **MOD EDIT** on!! Stop ruining the game for the rest of us on Server 1!!!

If your not **MOD EDIT** about this, you adviously didnt lose ballistas, or cant even produce enough to make a differance. 45k ballistas gone, 7200 Transports gone, 2500 catapults gone. EAT THE PEANUTS out of my **MOD EDIT** if you think thats ok!! Change something WITH OUT notice that would leave detrimental loses to the Evony communitee, dumb dumb dum!!

24 hour notice from here on out? Give me a friken break, I dont play this Crappy game to come to the forums every day to listen to noob1 **MOD EDIT** about this, or noob2 flaming someone for posting what they feel. DO IT IN GAME, since IT IS AN ONLINE GAME with an INGAME MAIL system!!

    Sincerly,... NO FOFF

    O'mighty!!

If that was the goal they should have gotten rid of the screen strategy(30k archer should not take an entire round to kill 1 pike)....notice I called it strategy not an exploit.

This is a strategy game and every time someone figures out a new strategy, the players that didn't figure it out whine and say it is unfair. So the moron developers change it, to an extreme. That is what is unfair. Isn't this a strategy game? Strategy should win.....not whining.

I have 325k plus prestige and am in one of the strongest alliances on all of the servers combined and I am done. I am currently trying to convince my entire alliance to quit and change games, and I don't think it is going to take much convincing. Maybe then the developers will get the message. They have ruined this game about 6 times already, it is now a ******* child of it's former self, and it is no longer fun to play.

I want to be clear, I am not mad about them trying to fix the battle mechanics, and that isn't why I am quitting. I am done because of the lack of communication, the untested patches, and constant changing of major game mechanics.

Congrats on ruining a pretty good game(at least it was about 6 or 7 versions ago).

This is an exploit of the battle mechanics.

a patch fixes but does not correct the fault.

    cheers more beers

Yeah and the games that are run well have a beta world to try out the patches before they just implement major changes to see how it will affect game play. Then they take feedback from players change the patch and then retest until it is right.........then they implement the patch.

Gotta admit, the change was to make rockfalls hit ballistas. Preferentially, I might add - adding thousands of warriors to shield a few hundred ballistas does nothing, the ballistas are always killed first. This means they didn't just change the range of rockfalls, they put in a special rule to make them kill ballistas first.

I lost 6250 ballistas before I figured this out. OK, them's the breaks. But how do you propose this "balanced army" is going to break a level 10 NPC? How do you suppose players of say, Earl rank are ever going to level, since they have to keep hitting high-level NPCs to get their medals? They'll have to throw away full armies to hit NPCs, which means that a process which used to take weeks will take many months.

I've already got my medals. But newbies aren't going to be able to make ranks past Baron in any reasonable time frame. And I might mention, this change to overpower rockfalls means that rolling logs are now useless, ballistas are almost useless, battering rams have always been useless, traps are useless (since they're more expensive than warriors who eat them), cavalry is useless except as fast transports, and cataphracts are useless because they're far too expensive and get killed against abatis. Abatis, it might be mentioned, are also useless because nobody's going to be attacking cities with cavalry. Very few of us have catapults, because we can't get the Michaelangelo's Scripts necessary to build the required buildings.

So what you've done here is eliminate most city battles. What the devs have promoted is squabbling over valleys. Kill all my valleys, see if I give a moon and sixpence. CITIES are what this game is about, and you're going to be hard-pressed to make a case for attacking one - there's simply no way you can haul off enough loot to pay for your losses now. It was already far too difficult to actually take an NPC city, now it's damn near impossible, and never a good idea economically.

If the change had been to simply make rocks hit ballistas LAST, after warriors/pikes/archers/whatever were killed first, then maybe this fix would have worked. It means people would have had to sacrifice thousands of warriors every time they attacked an NPC city, which is just fine. It would have eliminated the pure-ballista raid. But as usual, the Evony developers used a sledgehammer to crack an eggshell and completely over-did it.

Some of us are sitting on top of thousands of ballistas, waiting to see if this nerf is going to be partly reversed. Because if it isn't, those ballistas are useless - and it took many, many hours, and many, many barracks to build them.

You guys better do alot more thinking around the table, like maybe putting it out a week or more ahead of time. See, World of Warcraft used to patch once a week, and it was HORRIBLE, they screwed up almost every patch major issue's. They figured out hey, we need to take a little more time before changing the game all the time like this. You guys should do large patches/changes several weeks apart at the least, with informing the community LONG LONG before implementing it.....
    that is exactrly true!!

Now, this isn't directed at you, Dawnseeker, as you can only communicate the information that has been communicated to you.

People have been complaining about the lack of communication from UMGE from the beginning (not sure when Evony/Civony first started, but it was at least one and a half months) and it took them until the middle of May to realize that they needed to hire people to communicate to their players (but it seemed to me that their liasons weren't informed of much either). And now, at least 2 months after they first started, they clue into the fact that players like to be informed of changes when they happen instead of several hours later?

Also, on a personal preference note, would you be able to pry information from them on the details of the change? For instance, higher walls give longer range is pretty vague. I'd appreciate details like, higher levelled walls add 5% range per level (or 10%, or whatever % it is) to the defender's range? I'm basically asking for at least as much detail about it as is shown for research technologies.

So Dawnseeker. You spend 6-8 hours a day on the forums? So I guess you're just a flat out **MOD EDIT** then for not answering peoples questions. You spend a ton of time here. LEARN HOW TO RESPOND TO PEOPLE. Lazy **MOD EDIT** if I've ever seen one.
