Tried it. Didn't work. It stayed on iOS 4.1. I even tried using the back up file from my sister's iPod, which is still iOS 3.1.2, and using that to restore it. None of it worked. That was the first thing I tried. The only way to do it is downloading the software from an online source which also didn't work.
