I think that one full Iron and a full lumber city, preferably within about 20 miles of each other would be the perfect set up!

Then you get the full bonuses from valleys etc. And you can still send to the other city in a few minutes for building troops.

why would 2 cities be 20miles within one of other if you can build cities next to each other, unless the cities got random TPed, I dont think you would have to go 20miles just to find a open flat to build a city on

I guess suspending me for a day changed me...NOT

It is good to spread them out in order to prevent straining food resources available from NPCs. Overall you can support a bigger army with more ease. And it is also harder for enemies to find all of your cities, than it would be if they were right next to each other.

Depends on if you play AgeI or AgeII, one AgeI it would be better if your cities was speard out, but on AgeII in my opinion, I rather keep my cities close or group split them off, and build 2 bases in different places.

i prefer wood and iron in one city
a few more mills than mines
for many reasons but mostly that i hardly ever need to shift rss from one city to another

1 full wood 1 full iron is the best way to go.....if your barracks are full and your res is capped you can put wood in your iron city and vise versa and still produce res while waiting for space in your barracks.
