Sorry Dawn, but it's not a false statement.
Medals stopped dropping from NPCs for every Age I server that was released after s55, including super servers.
Yes, they still drop from valleys, but it seems only high leveled ones (levels 7-10) and that's not really that high of a rate either.
It may be me but when you take a level 10 valley and get a lion medal it's sort of an insult when they used to come from level 4 NPC's. Frankly I'm surprised more of a outcry hasn't been made from this as it really is a huge game change.
Probably because it started on later servers and by the time us old timers were hit it was old news?

There has been quite a large outcry, but a lot of people feel despondent because they know it is a money issue and Evony make more $$$ this way so it is unlikely to change.
All i am personally asking is that they up the drop rate for nation and justice slightly, i farm medals hard and although i sometimes get around 20 in a day it is very rare i pick up any nation at all.
Hence starting this thread, and i am glad it has slightly drifted from it's original path to the one it is currently traveling as this for me is the key issue behind my woes.
Sig by SpaceSJ, thanks bro.

Thanks to all of you for confirming what I said, that medals do not drop from NPCs (aka "Barbarian Cities") anymore for any Age 1 servers other than the pre-nerf servers, like mine (N4).
There was a large outcry, but people were told that they were "wanting something for nothing" and that the game was "not meant for players to reach the highest levels of the game in one weekend", or etc, etc, etc...
However, if one brings enough money to the table, one can "reach the highest levels of the game" in one hour, if one chooses to do so.
Evony doesn't seem to understand that although there are players who do spend money, quite excessively at times, there are also players who are put off by the extreme nature of how much time is required to circumvent the monetary advantage on the newer servers, and because of that they choose not to spend at all and/or leave the game.
On server N4, I spent a few hundred dollars. I never bought a medal box. I bought items that would help me in Player vs. Player activites. This is proof that players still spend with the medal drop rates the way they were. If it hadn't been for various attitudes coming from the company around 10-12 months ago that seem to still linger, I might've spent some since then, but when Evony acts like the pre-ghost intervention Scrooge, I'll find other uses for what little money I still have...

I've said before that I challenge anyone out there to agree that spending greater than the amount of time I would've invested in 3 months at a full time job was "too easy" to make it to Prinzessin. That's how long it took for me to get there with the updated requirements for the title. When it took just a collection of the smaller medals, maybe it was "too easy", but for it to take like 10 (or was it more than that) Nation medals and 30 Justice medals to make Prinzessin, and both Nation and Justice medals only came from level 10 NPCs, then it took a considerable amount more effort.
I've also said before that they probably just went overboard with trying to increase the difficulty level, meaning that the change to requiring Justice medals for Prinzessin was probably enough of a change. Instead, they did that and then also made medals only drop from level 7-10 valleys, neglecting to consider that those same valleys are used for resource production.
With people holding valleys for resource production, combined with the fact that you also don't get any kind of medal for PvP valley "battles" (no defending troops in the valleys), this means that people have to go for longer marches to "maybe" get some random medal, and only "maybe", as a drop is definitely not for certain.
The game's focus shifted away from PvP when they did the medal nerf. Now the primary focus is PvE, which is really not anywhere near as fun. You have to spend so much time grinding against the Environment to get medals for promotion or for hero persuasion that it is really a chore. Some people will spend money on the $5 or $30 pacakges here and there, but people realize how much money this game really costs if you play it for a long time, and then they become more hesitant to part with their money, especially given the global economy right now.
Of course, what do I know...?

If you would care to post a battle report where someone from any, and I do mean ANY, of the higher-numbered Age 1 servers had a medal drop from attacking ANY level barbarian city, then I'll accept that as proof, but until then, I stand by what I said as 100% true.
As supporting proof of my statement, for the 6 months or so I played on server 120 and the few days of whatever it merged into, I know that I never received a single medal from level 5 or level 10 NPCs.
Additional proof can be obtained by reading, at your leisure, any of the Age 1 medal guides for higher numbered servers.
I await someone, anyone, be that yourself or any other person playing this game on any Age 1 server other than the known pre-nerf drop rate servers (n and wn series and the couple that haven't been merged) to post an active link to an XML report where a medal dropped from a barbarian city.
