I've said before that I challenge anyone out there to agree that spending greater than the amount of time I would've invested in 3 months at a full time job was "too easy" to make it to Prinzessin. That's how long it took for me to get there with the updated requirements for the title. When it took just a collection of the smaller medals, maybe it was "too easy", but for it to take like 10 (or was it more than that) Nation medals and 30 Justice medals to make Prinzessin, and both Nation and Justice medals only came from level 10 NPCs, then it took a considerable amount more effort.
I've also said before that they probably just went overboard with trying to increase the difficulty level, meaning that the change to requiring Justice medals for Prinzessin was probably enough of a change. Instead, they did that and then also made medals only drop from level 7-10 valleys, neglecting to consider that those same valleys are used for resource production.
With people holding valleys for resource production, combined with the fact that you also don't get any kind of medal for PvP valley "battles" (no defending troops in the valleys), this means that people have to go for longer marches to "maybe" get some random medal, and only "maybe", as a drop is definitely not for certain.
The game's focus shifted away from PvP when they did the medal nerf. Now the primary focus is PvE, which is really not anywhere near as fun. You have to spend so much time grinding against the Environment to get medals for promotion or for hero persuasion that it is really a chore. Some people will spend money on the $5 or $30 pacakges here and there, but people realize how much money this game really costs if you play it for a long time, and then they become more hesitant to part with their money, especially given the global economy right now.
Of course, what do I know...?
