If Aliens visit Earth...

Here is a challenge for all you science (and science fiction) minded out there. Many of the world's leading astrophysicists agree that the Universe statistically MUST be teaming with life - much of which would be vastly superior to Humans. Vastly superior to the point of the human mind not even being able to comprehend a reality on the same level - similar to how a chimpanzee cannot comprehend quantum physics we simpletons couldn't comprehend the alien science or thoughts.

Now, assume these same vastly superior aliens come to earth and percieve humans as a food source. What realistic arguement could we humans offer to these aliens to convince them not to eat us that wouldn't also apply to apply to our own consumption of beef, or chicken, or fish, or lamb, etc.?

(please, I'm looking for science based answers, not theology based answers - if you want to offer answers based on religious beliefs, PM me)

I didn't think that one through, because if they liked the chicken and knew we tasted like them then they'd us and our chickens. Fml.

It depends on if they consider us sentient or non-sentient. If they consider us non-sentient, there really is no way that we could convince them of anything.
It would be like a cow mooing at you, trying to say that he doesn't want to become a hamburger. Since we don't consider them sentient, we have no reason to think of their vocalizations as anything more than noise and just disregard them.

[EDIT]Look, it's not too hard. Just show them how much pollution we have let enter the enviroment and tell them how many toxins (including mercury) we have ingested because of this. They would never eat us if they knew that and valued their own good health.[/EDIT]

Yeah! Because everyone in prison is guilty of crimes, right? and not just some poor person who couldn't afford a decent defence.
So that sounds fair.
