The intellectual elite must guide the unenlightened, base and vulgar masses. In society, only the benevolent and wise should rule.

The masses are none of the things you claim them to be, and to agree with you on this point is to write off the greater part of humanity. I note with some pleasure that Gnerphk, who "instinctively" grasps your philosophy and leadership potential does not agree with you on this point. Maybe it's time to anoint a new demagogue.

I cannot be said to speak for him, whether on a personal level or as a candidate.

So when you rather patronizingly posted this:

But my support for his candidacy is undiminished by this; after all, the original post no longer exists, and I must judge by what is, not by what was or what might be.

The original post no longer exists because forum members complained and it was removed to prevent a riot. That was the action which the masses took to prevent sexist prose being posted on the forums.
