It's arguable that disagreeing is the surest evidence of a failure to instinctively grasp... but I fear it's a circular argument and therefore invalid; I offer it only in a spirit of fun.
Instead, I'd like to take a different tack - disagreements are the basis for debate, without which true communication is unlikely. Monologues, especially of the self-evident variety, are rarely compelling. Fortunately, through this (to me) unexpected disagreement, I believe we've been able to add something to one another's understanding - or at least to state more fully the various perspectives we seem to take on the same fundamental truths.
