There are arguments that too much hygiene is bad for you.
Shampooing can strip minerals and nutrients from hair. I may shower everyday, but I only shampoo my hair every 2-3 days. the rest of the time I just rinse it.
People who live in overly sterile conditions may suffer a weakened immune system, because it has very little work to do. Fighting off the occasional "bug" helps our immune system create antibodies to add to it's arsenal of defenses.
There are bacteria that live on our skin that actually repel some airborne threats to our health.
If we ate completely sterile food all the time, we would never get some necessary bacteria into our digestive system. Our digestive process requires these bacteria to leech out nutrients from food that our body absorbs.
We should all practice good hygiene. But, we should embrace a little "dirt" now and then.![]()
