You must not watch the top very often, cities are getting taken. But the rest of the issues are causing people to quit by the min :P

You know that Evony never intended for people to have such massive army sizes until smart people started farming NPC's? This is actually a real PvP test. Lots of people, certain army size, enemies within 10 miles. Just deck it out with them. Learn how to play the game for real. All that farming? thats not the original purpose of the game. Start killing people with your troops, you don't need a massive map size to play the game. I was on Server 1 for over a year and my army was never bigger than maybe 2-3 mil troops, but I was respected, I knew how to use those troops, I knew how to play. Now when I'm on SS37, my army size doubles, trebles, and I don't really enjoy the game as much because all my enemies are so far from me due to massive map size.

Seriously check out my hit threads then ask me if I know how to play it's not just about farming and attacking it's about DEAD CITIES taking up the spots on the map that my or other alliances can use. You don't realise the knock on effect do you??

Right now the alliance I'm assisting can't port to other areas, Most have hardly any troops cause of the beating they have took so they are looking for safer places. But they can't find anywhere but it's ok 7 have now quit and they used to spend a bit. Evony's loss so who cares right?

No wonder Evony is more of a social game these days.

thats as simple as it gets imho ....

At say for rough calculations 12 m food per NPC10 so that is 30 NPC10/hour.
I dont know what the exact number for a food city but say 9 times 2 million an hour but that does not really make a dent in the harvesting.

3 runs on the 10 per day - That is 240 NPC10s - even a third of that and then they lose some their NPC10s that will cut them down to size real fast.

I started on SS34 and stopped about 4 days into the BP, even with assistance, I had to jump more or less into NPC5s and there was not that many of those around.

On the server before that I was in right at the start, I moved right in the middle of 4 NPC10s and had a few within easy reach. It was hard to keep up with it even with the NPC10s 4 mins something away, as a single city player.

The size of the state made it near impossible to reinforce as well from one side to the other. We had players who had jobs and a commute, and they were being harvested every day. Now some worked their way out of that but more than half did not. I poured hours of work into resupply. I had pike and then cav in modest amounts to reinforce these guys.

I was pouring good work into these guys to have someone else come along and grab it. Now there is the mantra, we rule we harvest our enemies etc or whatever and after a while working hard for little is not anyone's fun.

Not for the person being harvested nor the person trying to assist.

Once a player has made it to the top, if the top is 100 mill+ food an hour, they do not spend that much but the game still has to run and this costs money. So the cleaning out of the NPCs might make sense financially to have more players start and spend a few hundred rather than keep the bigger ones in the game.

While a protest vote from the bigger ones may appear to be viable and we are leaving, that is what will allow the smaller players in and the income stream to continue. I dont see the smaller player being upset about these big guys collapsing under their own weight.

They will as they do leave as well in time.

Unfortunately this adds to the amount of space junk and this remains something which will be dealt with and it will be as usual a surprise.

Perhaps an AgeIII with AgeI graphics and new rules about activity ?

Best wishes to those who were in ICECOLD, MERC, HONOR on 131, SOLACE on 144, thePack2 on 158

I think it's safe to say everyone in Brood would prefer the smaller map sizes than the big one we have had since our first merge. Back on server 78 it was easy to keep a war city out long periods of time, npc hopping around between targets and just reinforcing new troops/food to it. Now it costs a billion food just to move a few mechs to a war city without porting it home first, because you're going 400 miles away.

You are not the only one that knows how to fight or wisely use troops, you are however out of your freaking mind of you think 2-3 million troops are enough on any old server nowadays.

It doesn't matter what evony intended, once you have enabled our armies to get to this size then they must be maintained at this size. Some of us are willing and able to do that, if the map is not choked out with dead accounts and bots filling the flats with junk 24/7 because their owners are pansies and fight that way.

There is no warfare in this Evony. As the founder of TheBrood, I can honestly say I would give my left boob for some real warfare on ss60. We were SO excited about this merge I just can't even express how disappointing it has been. Server 78 was nonstop fighting. We had people that stood up to us and troops dying left and right on both sides. Then ss25 came along, and we discovered people that flatfilled their state to avoid us getting in. When we got in anyways they just holidayed till the next merge... yes whole alliances holidayed. Then ss52 came along, and we were ecstatic... finally getting away from these chickens that wanna stick their head in the ground rather than fight.... except we ran into another server pretty much the same. It didn't take long for our friendly ss25 holidayers to teach their new allies on ss52 how to avoid fighting. And 'lo and behold, here comes ss60 barely months after the last merge. This was putting us up against people much larger than us, alliances larger than us, and heroes that made ours look weak (even though ours were dominant for 3 servers). WE WERE HAPPY! Well, happy for about 48 hours... then the teleport truce wore off and we realized our state was already half sabotaged by cowards that won't fight and the other half sabotaged by Evony's incompetance. Ultimatums come in at us to leave our home state we fought & won 3 servers for, or they'd fill it with junk. Our valleys were being stolen by the top dogs that supposedly were gonna kick our ass.... valley wars? Really? This server has thus far the greatest disappointment.

So no Ghost, we don't need or want a huge map, just need the BS off this one. Our enemies are not dozens of miles away, they're in the middle of our fields with auto-comforting auto-reinforcing auto-gate managing bots that you really cannot capture cities from. This is not a real PVP test. This is a patience test. This is a frustration test. This is a tolerance test. This is anything except a PVP test.

You are so wrong. People with 100mil+ food per hour upkeeps don't sit around farming and not spending money, they buy teleports constantly and excalibers constantly and they port that war city around and kill reds with it... then they use their main hero with that excaliber on 24/7 and they que more troops to keep up that nonstop killing. At risk of starting up the "wah wah you coiners ruin the game" critics again, TheBrood buys a damn lot of cents for teleports and excalibers, a LOT more than the 1 or 2 city knights that sit around complaining that we're ruining the game cuz we're too big for them.

PS - to you people talking about the huge mech armies and 350mil/hr upkeeps and such... the people with those upkeeps have vestas on every day and they farm npc10's 8 waves/heroes per city per round... the same way you send out npc5 farmers 8 at a time. Farming is actually easier once you reach that critical mass and have 600k+ archers per city to do it with.

Only reason no one is fighting TheBrood right now is because they are fighting for whatever space they have left in the states they are in. Your not the only alliance having crap npc's build around them and you most certainly won't be the last.

Btw the alliance your fighting in Carinthia is of no bother to you and cannot even match the troops you have, But your players can stomp and moan all day long. You don't own the state and you won't shift stubborn players. Regardless of what tactics you try people will always find a way to avoid being moved if they are stubborn.

But yes Ghost 2-3 mil troops won't do much on SS60 for long that's a fact. When I was playing on last server you would need 10 mil troops min to break most cities.

But TheBrood are right about the way the game is played. People will play the game how they want regardless. Go ask Epic games if they wanted Gears of war to be a shotty fest, They will tell you NO, It's supposed to be a cover based tactical shooter. Epic games have now stated they are making towards the shotgun users cause the PLAYERS MAKE THE GAME WHAT IT IS TODAY.
