But it might also be the case that this extends to coin won from the wheel, which is a promise from Evony which cost the player nothing.
    2) Preservation of dead accts with coin on them is driving away active players who spend other coin. These then become inactive players. These then become dead accts with coin on them. The persistence of these dead accts then drives away active players who spend other coin. These then become inactive players .....

So the problem is an external factor (the law) over which Evony has no control in combination with the very popularity of the game itself. Ghosts of players past are winning out over active players simply by hanging around. They walk away and dont give the game another thought.

Maybe an idea might be for Evony to mail the login emails of dead accts once a week urging these ppl to return and clean up after themselves. Something like: We're glad you came. We're sorry you left. But before you forget about us, as a courtesy to your other players, could you please login once more to push ReSet or otherwise explicitly close your acct so we can take appropriate action?

There is a city on ss46 which we recognise as the last city of the founder of our alliance. His last login was October of 2009. Eighteen months later and it is still here ....

The inactive player is much less of a thorny issue than you state if further analysis is done.

The user in most cases who has been inactive that long was on a server prior to the last server merges (in MOST cases), so there should be no expectation of their city even being in the same coords that they left it (and if there is they need therapy). Moving them off the board into a temporary area, and then only placing that city on the map if they login (to a random location) would make happier active players, free the map up more without clearing NPCs, and generally, give a better business model.

The post I quote above I have a real hard time with---- those of us with ideas (so many of which have been posted, and mine being a repost of someone elses) are in many ways thwarted by the above that gives people an excuse to let things sit in the "Too Hard Box". C'mon folks! No apologists, but creative suggestions to SOLVE that have a better chance of being effective.

(Emailing folks each week will work for a few, and then all of a sudden Evony is on Postini and other places blacklists!)
