They seem to be trying to cater to all elements, the casual "check in before work, check in after work" players, as well as the "Play for 5 hours at a time" players. Now to be quite honest if you left for work for 8 hours and weren't able to check in to the game during that time, if you weren't top of the food chain chances were very likely you'd get destroyed. I imagine there are more casuals than hardcores, so this is a problem.

However now the axe swings the other way, now you can go away for 10 years and it's unlikely you'll be attacked if you put some work into fortifications and defenses. This makes people who play more actively than twice a day have essentially almost nothing to do since PvP is a rare occurence. Since hardcores tend to be the ones that make up the most active and vociferous segment, and often the most long-term players, this seems like a problem too.

So what are they gonna do? No idea. They're trying to balance not a "PvP-Game" but rather a game with elements of PvP, RTS, and whatever, and this is extremely hard. I wish them the best of luck in their endeavor.
And if the casual player had half a brain(not speaking to you just in general) They would make themselves unprofitable while offline. Ie set production down, lower taxes ect ect. Instead they have begged the mods to "balance" the game FOR them since they dont seem to grasp the strategy enough themselves.

Then ofcourse there's the delusional ones who have never launched an attack telling us to get over it and to use "real" strategies now as if we were faking it this whole time. Once those still left once again figure out how to stay on top then those same players will just do it all over again because changing the game wont make them any brighter.

I've seen so many games with potential but no guts to stick to their guns go down this road and they all end up at the same place. A history note on a wiki somewhere. You will never make everyone happy and it's just a waste of everyones time to even try. Advertise the game as what you want it to be and then develop it further in that direction.

O-game was a fantastic example of this. If you could'nt figure out how to survive before you left protection and then complained about it being unfair you would get a resounding tough nuts find an easier game reply from the mods.

It's just ignorance to claim that the top players got there because A-they played longer or B they exploited. Everyone had and has the exact same opportunities and if you're too dumb to use them then tough nuts go ruin a different game.

Funny thing it was the rally point limit that made me quit but I still visit the forums in hopes they'll continue to develop a pvp game and not a single player game. Just seemed completely wrong that 1.5 mil troops could'nt conquer a city with not even a third of that number to me. Ofcourse I think the wall limits should be removed aswell as fair is fair but that's a whole different topic.
