    Federal Communications Commission

They govern the communications networks in America.

Only if any of your communications or media comes from America, or travels through it. If you watch American shows, they have affected you because those shows follow FCC guidelines for censorship. If you use a website based in America it affects you. If you use google, then it has been created to follow FCC parameters and guidelines as well.

A lot of the communications governing bodies like the FCC in other countries tend to follow the lead of the FCC, anyway. If the FCC decides on a certain method of governing bandwidth, you will find that is the method copied in the majority of other countries.

No offense to you guys or anything but can we go back to the "Rule Britannia" days at least then all you had to worry about was which cousin hated which (sometimes with disastrous consequences)

These new rules are in fact extremely flawed... and if isps get too greedy they could potentially affect your games by charging you extra to play games, stream media, visit sites they dont like, etc... or not. But the new rules are terrible imo, mainly because while they try to enforce net neutrality they are giving isps the ability to do the opposite of net neutrality.

Yeah, I've noticed on any American cosmetic surgery shows/documentaries (for example), they blur the boobies on breast augmentation procedures whereas British and Irish ones don't. The same can be said for any other shows that include nudity.

Hell's Kitchen USA: Every second word out of Gordon Ramsay's mouth is bleeped out.

Hell's Kitchen UK: You can hear Gordon swearing like there's no tomorrow.

    TL;DR Censorship sucks.

Those small details are correct. But there are some shows that would simply never be made in the first place because of the cumbersome nature of FCC regulations. Those are shows you won't see in other countries because they are just never made. That's what I meant when I said the FCC affects what other countries will see. I am fully aware that most other countries do not get as many bleeps and blurs as America sees on the shows that are actually produced.
