Evony is a persistent world. The world continues even while you are offline.

However, it's not like most persistent world MMO's where your character does not exist while you are offline. You don't log in and out of the persistent world, like warcraft. Your Evony lord is vulnerable to attack while you are offline. The Evony lord exists in the world all day, every day. The warcraft character exists only while you are logged in.

I'm trying to think of some terms that clarify this difference, without the paragraph of explanation. Any ideas?

1) If we called Evony a persistent world, then what would the new term be for games that you log in and out of?
2) If we labeled log in/out games as persistent worlds, then what term clearly defines Evony as a game that leaves you vulnerable when you're not playing?
3) Should they both be considered persistent worlds, and we come up with two completely new terms to differentiate the two kinds of persistent worlds?

I prefer option 3. i would like to brainstorm some new terms that for the two different kind of persistent games. Please share your thoughts and ideas on what terminology we could use. Maybe there's a term you know of already that clearly defines one of the genres.
