One thing that would not be so cool about realism- building/researching/training times. You could say goodbye to minutes or even hours and say hello to days or months. I could probably mention more unenjoyable factors of a "realistic" gameplay, but I doubt I need to.

I don't think I would aim for precise realism; I don't think most games are capable of reliably being "realistic". There's just way too many factors and simulations that would have to be taken into consideration, depending on how extreme you're wanting to go.

I guess you could say I lean towards "virtualistic", it just seems best suited for a game of this nature especially. But I would rather prefer one that falls into the category of "virtualistic but reasonable", which in my views is different from the example you provided (I dislike precise linear calculations in games, I enjoy some degree of random factor. And I prefer a balanced game, to me "exploits" or "cheats" dilute the challenge and sense of accomplishment an otherwise balanced game can offer).

Realism can be a nice addition to a game, but only so long as the elements in question actually add to the fun of the game, rather than simply reflect realism.

    It's all Rodri's fault.
