Default Many Evony Players Doing it Tough

Tonight in Queensland, Australia many Evony players are doing it tough as the cleanup begins in earnest as flood waters recede. Many of you may know Aussie players who are living within the disaster zone and I am sure that we all hope and pray that all of them are safe and well and return to their alliances as soon as possible.

At this time there are 16 people confirmed dead and a further 55 still missing. The towns of Grantham, Toowoomba, Ipswich and the city of Brisbane and suburbs are among the worst affected areas but there are more than 62 towns and millions of hectares of farmland across Queensland that are flood affected.

Many Brisbane and Ipswich residents were allowed to return to their homes today to begin the heart breaking task of cleaning up and assessing the damage. They were bolstered by an army of volunteers from drier areas around Brisbane and although many have lost nearly everything they own, community spirits were high and amazing progress has been made so far. That is not to underestimate the task at hand. Some areas are still closed by floodwater and much of the State's vital infrastructure still needs to be repaired or replaced.

I would like to ask all players of Evony to consider a donation to help aid the victims of this flood disaster, which includes players of Evony that you may know. I know that times are tough all over the world right now and money may be tight but even the smallest of donation will help out. So perhaps you could think about it, the next time you go to purchase coins or whatever and consider helping out? Every little bit helps, thank you.

Still no land line or mobile coverage to speak of (thank goodness for satellite isp) but actually watching the radar during the storm was a double edge sword, we kept wondering of it would ever stop.

The levee I built in preparation held (with a little extra digging during the downpour) but the stock dam on the back paddock burst it's walls, I suppose while the water was subsiding Tuesday night, because at 7pm I couldn't see the dam's top as the entire paddock was submerged.

Be strong and with time you will make it through this trying time

My thoughts are with everyone in the affected areas in Aus, and i will be donating over the next few days. When i find a spare min to be able to!

    --------

While the Floods in Aus seem to be slowing down, I feel the need to also remind everyone to spare some thoughts for the Floods in Brazil. This is an extract from: The BBC News Site

'More than 500 people are now known to have died in floods in south-eastern Brazil, the country's worst natural disaster for several decades.
Heavy rain has led to massive mudslides hitting several towns, resulting in thousands being made homeless.
Police say the number of dead is likely to rise further.

The death toll has now surpassed the devastating 1967 mudslides in Caraguatatuba, Sao Paulo state, in which up to 430 people perished.
'Thousands trapped' Rescue workers will resume searching for survivors in the mountainous Serrana region, north of Rio de Janeiro, later on Friday.
Many spent Thursday scrabbling with their bare hands through debris.
On her visit to the area, President Dilma Rousseff promised a shipment of seven tonnes of medicines.

In the Campo Grande area of Teresopolis, which was earlier cut off, rescuers found people pulling bodies from the mud.
In the neighbouring town of Petropolis, local resident Nelson Toledo told the BBC that some areas "had been completely devastated" by the floods and mudslides.'

    How can I put this?

Firstly, thank you for your support it is very much appreciated.
But you will have to forgive me if what I say now sounds rude but I feel I must say it. I know there has been a massive natural disaster in Brazil and I also know that more than 1,000,000 are homeless after flooding in Sri Lanka and they need help as well.

But being Australian and having been through similar but lesser situations myself, my focus is on the people of Queensland and what I can do to help them. This thread was one small way that I thought might help. I wish I could head north to help them physically but all roads East of here (Mildura) are cut by floodwaters and we may have our own floods to deal with soon. I know there are a lot of Australians that play Evony and many of them are from Queensland. Some of them may have lost everything that they own. This appeal is for money to help those people who have no insurance or no flood coverage and will go to those who are in greatest need. I can only ask again that players consider donating to help out Queensland.
    PEACE
