Attacking from lvl5 npc

this is s148 and some guy attacked me but lost so I capped a b5 right next to him and upgraded FH and rally while he truced. He had 80k archers left so I did not put many troops in the npc.

But when he came out of truce he was heavily reinforced. with 350k archers and 200k warriors

This is what happened:

I sent hundreds of cav/scout spammies to clear traps and abatis, because he was online and rebuilding t/a/d)

and also:

-horses killed 150k warriors
-scoutbombs killed 50k archers

Then I let him rebuild a trap:
Mini- ballista attack (could have done with less ballistae and archers but at that time there were still 200k war and 25k layers... and better safe than sorry)

Agree. Unfortunately he built a trap before my cavsmack (30k cav 25k phrax and 35k sword) and thats all i had within reinforcing range...
Got no report back unfortunately. will try to get them from him

That pike bomb/ weird range bomb, was oddly a amazing hit.

As a question, wouldn't it have been benefical to add some pikes as layers for the sword hit?

Also, did you leave your academy at level 5 in the NPC? Cause as I recall, Medicine is a level 6 academy tech, so if you didn't, I'd like to see these sort of waves with the full bonus from Medicine.

This is a much more interesting set of reports than most I've seen recently, attacks that aren't just cav, scouts, mechs or archers.

yeah i forgot the pike they wouldve given me 1 extra round and i wouldve cleared an extra 45k arch... oh well

yeah academy was lvl6 swords and pike are most effective when there are no ats around: i've killed as much as 200k archers with 100k sword when there were no walls present.

This is the real beauty behind a CD: you can use the troops to attack lol. you cannot use cavs for defense...

i would of sent just cavs with scouts since there was no abatis there ?
