The food maintenance issue is unrealistic. 100,000 siege engines is absurd.
Tell Xerxes to get out of here its absurd to attack Greece with over a million men and I'm pretty sure the Romans and the French had thousands if not 100's of thousands of siege weapons. The difference is the Romans or the French didn't have to feed their wooden siege weapons hundreds of units of food a day. Last time I checked wooden siege weapons didn't get hungry. Bottom line if I was a king and all my catapult men ate 32 units of food per hour I would put them all to the sword and hire skinnier men to man them.
