Most of you have probably been hit hard by the ballista farming nerfs (or the defender buffs, whichever you prefer to call them), as have I. There are several glaring problems with the battle mechanics of Evony- of course there have always been- but now they couple that with horrible resource mechanics to boot.

This is a war game, and in a war game you are expected to maintain and army for offense and defense. The problem is, the armies take unrealistic amounts of food to keep fed. For example: 6000 cataphracts eats 215,000 food per hour. Almost everyone has over 6000 troops in their army, some have 50x that. You can do the math on that food usage per hour. How are we supposed to be able to support these huge armies when there is no viable way to farm resources anymore? When we think about the poor NPC resource regeneration rate of 8 hours added to that, it severely limits the potential of our armies-- even if we were to farm them and eat the troop losses on it, which I dont think many people would like sending 50k ballista at a level 8 NPC and still losing almost 2000 of them. Its just not worth the 8 million food you get, that buys you 2 hours of food at best for my army.

Add to this problem the fact that attacking any player with level 9+ walls now is ridiculous, how am I supposed to get the food to support my army? They have been slowly bleeding me dry; I've spent over 30m gold in the market the past 2 days just buying food. The game is about expansion and conquest, but when you can't afford to expand and conquering other players is all but impossible unless they are completely inactive and/or beginners, how are we supposed to play this game again?

So, Evony staff, I plead with you. Either change the ridiculous food consumption per units, handily increase NPC resource yields, or boost farm production of food. At this point it is either fix this, or watch as your player base walks out the door.

Evony has now become The Sims, just sit in your little castle and upgrade buildings. God knows you won't be building armies for awhile...
