Crymore, you just aren't understanding what we're trying to say.
The best players build huge armies of ballistae because that was the best strategy at the time.
If the best strategy were to have cities packed with level 10 farms, we would discover it, and then do it.
If the best strategy were to reduce army size and have self supporting towns, we would do that too.
But those aren't the best strategy. In fact, with these changes, THERE IS NO BEST STRATEGY. Once you can build a city that cant be beat, and your opponents can too, then there is nothing left to do.
Its like we were playing rock, paper, scissors and they changed the rules to say that rock never loses. Ok, so now everyone just plays rock. Now what? The game is over.
Its fine to boost defenses. Even as dramatically as they have done. No problem. They just need to give us a way to overcome those defenses -- even if it takes a long time and a lot of planning and work. There has to be some way.
The problem is, there is currently no way. Put 300k archers in a level 9 city, and you're unbeatable. Its like rock wins all the time. And there's nothing left to do.
