Hard core gamers, the ones who have put hundreds of hours in, optimizing every part of their Evony development may not themselves be the big spenders of cash, but they are the single most important marketing agent that a company can have.

It is the hard core gamer that gives a game the seal of approval, and gets tens if not hundreds of other players to join in. They add informative posts to the forum, they train new players, they create strong alliances, they give new players a leg up.

They push the edge of the envelope, and make sure that when the masses follow that the path leads somewhere good.

And all of us, every single senior player, is saying: THE NEW MECHANICS ARE SCREWED UP AND DESTROY THE PLAYABILITY OF THE GAME. It has nothing to do with NPCs, it has to do with the fact that you can no longer attack players who have reached even a medium level of development.

Between no attacking other players, and the silly ceiling at level 10 research and buildings and the 10 city limit, you will find that you will quickly reach a point where there is nothing left to do.

Let me repeat that for the point of emphasis and clarity. THE PROBLEM WITH THESE CHANGES TO THE GAME IS IS THAT THEY RESULT IN AN INEVITABLE ENDPOINT AT WHICH THERE IS NOTHING MORE TO DO.

The senior players aren't whining because the techniques have changed. They're not whining because their armies will shrink. They're upset because the changes have the unintended side effect of ending the game for them.
I greed with this. The battle system has shifted too much towards the defending side.

I still want to make it clear that the changes to NPC farming is the right move! A lot of senior players ARE whinning about the lost of their huge armies. Maybe not you, but many others.
