More like limited point, a person that has lower class heroes cant not match or compete against players that have heroes that do instant builds, training no mater how you dream of using it.

the competitive circle is pay and play, the evony free players are our farms

@ original poster. Here's a real answer to your question. A good benchmark for a player on the more veteran Age 1 servers is going to be ..... a 600ish att or more hero (instascouts at 709 is what my server considers a needed hero to really compete anymore), 480ish on politics so youre at 1 second traps for decent defense rebuilds( again 607 for instant traps is the more accepted benchmark here), 300k archers per city tohave a chance at defending against the 'warcities' peeps use porting around with, and of course the usual trappings of research, rank, and 9 cities built with no farms in them. That of course isnt even taking into account cheating through info sharing and other means so your accounts are covered 24/7 which is rampant on my server as the developers wont take actions to fix it lol

So in conclusion, no, social players cannot reasonably expect to ever do much, this is the failure of an otherwise good game. Have fun in Age 2 (known as the kiddie-version of Evony) or get someone to give you an alt account to use as those are again very numerous as devs wont fix that either lol

Well, as a social player who maxed out their ranking once lvl 10 farming became the way to survive, I can tell you that my benchmarks are only revenge, and the ability to take out someone's city if I wanted to. I can't afford to put any money into the game, I don't have the time to create heroes to make instant troops, and I refuse to have account sitters. That being said, when I've wanted to, I've been very successful in surviving and attacking.

With one bizarre exception, all of my alliances have always reinforced me when needed, and alerted me on skype when I was getting thrashed, and have ensured that I survive and flourish. And, if I ever wanted to take a city from someone, I have done so. Granted, it'll take me a month of planning, building the right troops, timing everything right, but it works, and, frankly, its why I still play the game. The most satisfying thing to me is to pop up in the lvl 10 next to my enemy, smack dab in the middle of his 'homeland', snag his city, talk my smack, and then run as fast as I can with my tail between my legs. Some might say that is dishonorable, but then the only people I've ever done that to were as far from honorable as can be.

On the server(s) I've played one, s8 and N1, communication within your alliance is all that was ever needed, and its what I loved about Age I, the teamwork. Unfortunately, teamwork has pretty much died on N1, since our last new player joined back in May of 2010, and we've been losing players ever since, but I digress....

The whole reason I never went to Age II, which I think is a better age, is due to the friends I made in Age I, but the Evony devs never figured that one out...

    Default Where are the Thinkers?

on ss50 it seems that you can still get by with 200k archers per city and full walls,it is on the verge of ppl changing to using a lot more mech attacks and a compact defense but is not quite there yet.
This about the time i notice a lot of ppl leave to start a new server were they can they can go back to cav/scout spamming cities were you only need a few members in an alliance to gang up and you can beat most anyone.
Not many ppl want to go on to play end game evony with major mech battles and super alliances packing millions of troops.

Does Evony even have an End GameStrategy? these accounts that we have paid for and are suppossed to be around still when we are 99 what kinda style of play can we expect then?

On 144, our allaince had a couple of social players. They were harvested every night into piles of rubble and despair.

With little chance of developing defenses, they were impossible to defend and allow them time to grow to be big enough to survive.

Eventually the decision was made and they soon became inactive.

Best wishes to those who were in ICECOLD, MERC, HONOR on 131, SOLACE on 144, thePack2 on 158

Hours per week, that might be the benchmark. On 144? it was Friday from about 1800 to Sunday at 0600 or there abouts. As well as waking up every couple of hours and the internet cafe during the day.

Default Time = money = life

And at the very end.... you will judge your Evony experience by the precious hours of your real life that you spent farming online. Love the game.. hate the game...
