this point is completely moot...of course they have an advantage. They should have the advantage. They took the time to get an alliance together before a server opened, and they opened their wallets to have the advantage of no upkeep

yea im sure it does, but if you pay you deserve the advantage dude...or else what you be paying for.

well i never said anything about applying milk n cookies to be skillful so i guess youre right on this one

I shouldnt farm the smaller players? Why not? I can and will if i want their resources...and i dont want them farming my npcs. I do not care if i leave 1 dead city in my farm to stop someone from farming 50 of my npcs. When it gets ridiculous is when servers have merged multiple times and the dead cities are everywhere. Its not like these dead cities just got killed also..theyve been around for ages.

Evony has a business to run and staff salaries to pay, so payment is necessary for the game to continue and that is conceded. However for those who will dabble for a few hours, a couple of times a day, Evony will clearly be a frustrating experience. The game does suit a particular person, who is logical and has the ability to acquire the knowledge and process that into game strategy.
So what youre saying is that...noobs cant compete with experienced people because they dont know all the game strategies. Well in response to that you get a simple

and the answer to your question

is...it depends how far they want to reach. There are a plethora of smaller players (way more than the bigger players) on my server. They do fine as small-time alliances. The alliances like that who try to step up to the big dawgs but dont have the expertise or time or heroes or whatever...well i would ask you to ask them what happens but they are dead
