I never get intimidated, its one of my more endearing qualities, but I do get excited, so needless to say when my boss calls me in the room and says I got an interview for you with Imhotep my mind begins to race, what would I ask him? What would his tone be like? How much would he reveal? Well, I was very very surprised at how much he revealed and I hope that my readers will be happy with this story, it is certainly a pleasure to write it.
Sitting down with Imhotep at a local dive in North March(the address has been omitted as he does not suffer company). Its a bit dimmed with the acrid smell of newly burnt tobacco and good wine. I ordered the linguine with mushrooms and a glass of their best Pinot Grigio. We did the usual chit chat for a bit talking about kids and family, but it was time to get down to buisness. My first question to Imhotep shot directly at the heart of the recent changes in alliances and leaders and the break up of Tartarus. Many ppl have placed their own ideas about what happened and many of us had a vague idea so I asked the man himself what was going on in those last few days. "I ruled with an iron fist, we had set rules and guidlines to cover every contingency, we had our own evo-alliance type forum with everything posted,
anyone that was admitted after a sucessful interview and account inspection was sent a serious of mails clearly stating our goals, our rules and what it means to part of our alliance .. and most important what is expected, there troops become ours troops as well as their cities and heros." Leaning back he looked at me I assume wondering how open to be with me, "My number one rule was that the alliance name never flashed across the screen for any reason what so ever. We dont lose cities, this includes swapping cities, this is stated in ours rules.
Players are required to drop from the alliance when swapping cities and it was enforced from day 1. That day was the second time that had happened and I am a man of my word. I warned what would
happen if that were to occur again. I do what I say whatever the cost, its principle."
Digesting what was just said to me I cross my hands and lean back in my chair, I ask a question that I really wanted an answer to, It had been talked about in WC and I wanted to know if there was any truth behind it. Has a player from Tartarus ever been booted from the alliance because they were going to lose a city and it could not be saved? "Yes, it happened, I was not online at the time, they player was already below what we required to be a standing army, though I was not the one to actually boot the player, had I been I would have done the same thing."
At this point our waiter arrived to clear our table and I lit up a cigarette and we chatted about some things outside of the game. It was a pleasant conversation and gave me some insight into the person behind th character. Neither of us were interested in anything more but wine and beer, it was getting late but I still had some questions to ask. What would you say about 34Ton losing a city to Poison shortly after the formation of Tonnage? At this point I felt that I may have pushed to far, Imhotep seemed hesitant at first then spoke, "Disgraceful, no one should ever lose a city, Especially the host, how do you go from not losing a city in over a year to losing one in two days? Nine ppl were there to help and none sent reinforcments. Its shameful and straight weak."
We moved on to Lethal next and I asked about the alliance. "On LETHAL.. we are a closed group , we intend to stick to 25 members MAX. We don't need anymore we wana run without the baggage and all the issues that go with being part of a large alliance...lean is mean !.. Its all about team play, knowledge and a high standard of account admin..in short Guerilla Warfare strike hard and fast anywhere , anytime." It looks like this is good for them and very bad for the rest of us. The next question was what Imhotep felt about Zhay4Ever as they seem to be fighting constantly. Did she cause the war? Was there or is there a chance of being allied? No, from the jump she said her coalition would fight us, she had accounts on our server and would get in WC and run her mouth to us. If she had not have done that then who knows what would have happened, we probably still would have warred but it would have been different.
I then gave Imhotep a chance to say anything he wanted to, "well were only just out the door with LETHAL and tbh alot are using the down time to tend RL and play a little more recreational .. so were still in second gear as it were, as you know we have no set host or command structure just a level maturity and understanding.. we vote on everything in our skype room and go from there we have atm some red to work on so we'll focus our efforts there for the time being and see where it takes us hopefully it involves seiging big players with huge troops counts and uber heros and can provide epic battles we will of course continue to post these on our thread and give the people what they want .. pretty pictures supported by epic battle reps"
My last question was what the relationship between Lethal and Tonnage is, "Blue"
And that is the man who lead the most powerful alliance on the server, I am positive Lethal will be causing issues for alliances for a long time to come. Hopefully we can all provide the epic battles they seek.
Your man getting your the stories you want to read
