    I honestly think that until schools move to the internet, that is the best method. It is hard to skip under it and it is simple enough it can't break down. What if the head scanner breaks? What happens then? You probably end up taking roll call. ^_^
    Well, the attendance of students has to be sent off to the Department of Education, so it's easier to have all the results straight into the computer system rather than having 50+ teachers compiling their attendance records together for every class they teach. It saves the teachers a lot of hassle and there's no human error involved. I don't know how often these results are sent off but analysing all the teachers' records for each student in every class they attend would take a great deal longer than just printing the results out from the computer system.
