    So... are you saying that you were wrong, earlier, when you said revolutions were bad?


    That kind old lady stopped the rain for us.
    She said it would only make us cold, and miserable, and sick.
    We thanked her and hugged her and she walked away smiling warmly.
    I miss the puddles...

    I can only say that the French Revolution was a necessary step for the historical progression of the human species for its proclamation of the universal rights of man in which the Revolution was purged of its vulgar and base qualities and then purified by the benevolent despotism of Emperor Napoleon I during the period of the First French Empire [1804-1815 CE]. On the other side, one may argue that the French Revolution was aberrational as it deviated from the natural course of history.

    Also, if you accept that the progression of history is propelled by the great men and women of history as did Hegel in his Philosophy of History and Thomas Carlyle in his On Heroes and Hero Worship, Emperor Napoleon sowed the progression of the collective consciousness of man in which a new glorious and enlightened phase arose from the preceding age which was inferior.
