    Default Not possible attacker loss?

This war report is from am an alliance mate, where he is the hitter. I ran it through exercise and evocalc. Both have him winning, losing about 29k arch and fodder and the defender's troop totally wiped.

Personally I find rainbows suck for clearing arch in a 5k defence what I woulda done is do a very tiny layer clearer wave followed by a 99k arch 1k cav tradefire....thats just me though

    Default That is an idea...

But the question is really about how is this possible, not if rainbows suck. And a 5k defense is anyone that has 5k range setters, so you would then never send a rainbow first. In this case, it should have been more than safe. And evo calc takes into account #of AT and the presence of traps and abatis and the hero attacks.

evocalc must have something seriously wrong with it if it predicts that should've won. Its shouldn't have and it didn't. Defending archers get a range bonus from the wall (obvious) and will mow down the attackers until they get close enough to fire back at them.

^^ what he said I ran a couple different calcs as well just to see if they agreed with your outcome and they also predicted a win for you.....moral of the story never trust calcs :P In general I won't rb a defence thats set at 5k with more then 20k arch in it other then to clear ponies or meat...just too inefficient to use rbs to clear arch

Norr, I agree. I was going to say, evocalc is usually a few rounds off of the real thing.

BigNorr said it best, once meat is cleared, 99karch 1k cav to tradefire is the best way to clear arch in situations like that.

Calcs work good for an estimate but Ive yet to see one that can predict the random variables of traps, abatis, trebs and logs. Whats to say his attack didnt lose a layer or two in the first few rounds and that drasticaly changed the outcome? It happens when hitting lvl 10 npcs all the time .

    rule of thumb: evocalc sucks

I wouldn't continue using a calc that predicted a win for the attacker in that scenario.
