    *sigh*

JP I think you know very well why your claims are invalid and you just wanted a excuse to post that defense of yours.

    Yes, I can read minds.

In the last 6 months on Na14, I've been a part of stealing a level 16, 3 level 14's, and 8 level 12's from players. Some of them were poorly defended, others were well defended.

    The most difficult city had 100k Bailsta, 50k phrack/cav, 10k pults, 900k archers, 250k pike/swords, and 7 million warriors.

Me and 1 other guy ported in (and he got disconnected halfway through the hit) and we took the city's troops down in 15 minutes.

I lost: 500k archers, 75k balista, and 2 million scouts
    He lost: 600k archers

If you know what you're doing, no city is safe. Stupid attacks will get stupid results. The guy sending 175k archers at you....that was a stupid attack and look what it got him. Anyone who takes the time to understand just how mechanics work can formulate a plan to take down anything.

all i see from people is waaaaaaaaaaaa they capped the historic city before i could. now that they have put the time to build it up and can put way more troops then me in it. i want it. pllllllleeeeeeaaaaasssseeee put a limit to how much they can defend their cities with.

seriously learn the game. train the troops. win the battles. if they text or comfort tough, its part of the game (as much as i hate fighting the text battle) every city is more then breakable if u plan ahead.

That city is poorly defended and can easily be taken. That was just a bad attack. Yeah, 5k scouts is smart against 2 traps lol

if he knew battle mechanics, you would have had similar losses on both sides... that is just a point of who has better heroes...

but wait, does that mean that they should take away your stars because it is unfair to the people who dont spend quite as much?

The hardest HC to stole had 100k ballista, 900k archers and 7 million warriors? Wow, that is only 5% of what payers have packed into them these days. Now, multiply your hardest HC steal by 100. See, these days impossible.

JP, at what range does a battle start when there are 0 wall defenses?
JP, what is the range of attacking archers with lvl 10 archery tech?
JP, do you want to rethink your 'Period' claim?

Also, considering that the defender can login and pray, get reinforcements, build ONE trap or abatis or Defensive Treb one at a time to keep battle range at max and prevent horse waves from wiping archers, etc.. There are far too many things defenders can do to keep a HC out of enemy hands. Thus, they never trade hands. This is not just a speech text and account sharing issue.

As for questions related to archer range and so on, they are not relevant to this thread. Let's just assume the defender has max everything. Max walls, max research and max heros.
    I think he's humming again....

Jp, take a long look at a few good battle mechanics guides. Then go live in a cave for a few months and think about what you've learned. When you come back, maybe you'll have learned something, or changed your perspective from "japanpimp world, to the real world". It's far fetched, I know, but we can live in hope. Chances are, yes, you guessed it, you'll cover your ears and start humming. I'll do it with you if you want.

I dont understand why you guys are bashing JP so much in this thread... He made some really good points but i dont agree with everything he is saying. Yes hes wrong about it being impossible to break a city with millions of troops but what happens after you break it?
95% of the time when a HC level 14 and above gets attacked a magical elf logs in and comforts and uses speech text... Account sharing is a serious issue and evony needs to fix it.

Maybe the person[s] doesn't do 24 hour comforting/speech text. But when they feel its a safe time they can transfer the HC to another member who's still fresh on troops right? I think that's another problem that has to be resolved. You can solo a well defended 14 and beat the bulk of their force, but when they start doing the comforting game and you have other things to do, an alliance mate of theirs tele's in, and the next day you see a new owner of the HC under the same alliance.

Look everyone, here is the point....
Owning an HC puts the owner and/or alliance on top. Problem is, it is far too easy to keep a HC from being captured by rivals. So HCs rarely get captured by rivals. This takes challenge and fun out of the game. It's like 10 year old kids trying to play baseball against adults. Sure, the kids have a chance to win, but not very likely. The game/battle over HC's is very one-sided as it stands today. Why is it one-sided? For a number of reasons which include battle mechanics, items players can get for free or purchase, account sharing, multi-accounting and extremely high numbers of troops packed into HC's and as Transcend mentioned above, handing a HC over to a friend if it is near being captured by a rival.

My work is done here. If some do not agree, fine. But if we all agreed on everything all the time then the world would be a very very strange place.

In Age II battles and wars are supposed to center around Historical Cities. Historical Cities are supposed to trade hands between rivals. The problem is, the way things are today Historical Cities can be defended just a easy as any other city.

Why is this a problem? Well, in Age I and Age II servers Na20+ ANY city can be captured by an enemy. Players do not want to lose their cities, right? So Evony made it EASY to defend cities against attacks. Thus the battle mechanics heavily favor defense, not offense.

This creates a problem when it comes to Historical Cities. Why? Because HC's are meant to change hands between rivals. HC's are not meant to be like all other normal player cities. Thus HC's should not be as easy to defend as all other normal cities. I am attaching a screen shot of a player who attacked one of my normal cities. I was attacked from a L14 HC. The attack wave was 175k archers plus layers in a single wave. The attackers Queen was about 650 attack. My defending hero was about 720 attack plus excal. Notice how easy it was for me to defend my NORMAL city against 175k archers plus layers.

So, HC's never trade hands between rivals because they are just as easy to defend as normal cities. HC's, unlike normal cities, are MEANT to be fought over by rivals and change hands so that battles and wars can be won. How can a team take a state from an enemy if they can never wrestle the state capital from the enemy because it is way too easy to defend? This simply means that the first owner of a HC will be the last owner if they so desire. I know that Evony is working on solutions to help HC's trade hands more often. But I just wanted to show a real world example of how easy it is to defend a city.

Please tell me if it was EASIER to Steal a City why anyone woyuld bother wasting the troops to take a HC?

I mean WOW... Free warriors cause as soon as you take a HC in red area's the red in that drafting range port out

HC's can not be ported and are limited in their Attacking abilities as Sending Attacks on LONG Marches is just asking for a no report

High Level HC's are MASSIVE targets and Defending troops are easy enough to kill... Once a server reaches a certain level only noobs Are defending OR Attacking with mainly archers as once a city gets about 200-400k Archers in it Almost every Archer wave ( Only a few ways to layer will cause trade fire ) Will splat with 0 Losses

    Your example is TERRIBLE.
One THAT IS NOT A HC
    Two That defense is tiny
Three the Attacker had no clue what he was doing
    Four You have even less
Five The only way to prevent a HC being mass hit by an Enemy Alliance is to have them so scared of Attacking.... And very few players can cause that kind of,........ reluctance

Any HC that isn't account shared can be taken easily enough.... In fact when I played 19 we took 4 Enemy HC's within 2 hours and even though they had Gov they couldn't do jack about it

It's NOT Hard to take HC's. What is hard is when they cheat

But taking a HC is SOOOO easy as every defence has major weakness's... Just cause you have no clue what they are does not mean you have any right to dictate what we should and shouldn't do

So stop complaining as you Don't own a HC nor do you want one so off and leave the Attacking of HC's to those with a clue cause I am tired of your pre menstral whinning about HC's
