Olad rolled his eyes at the scene. This, he reflected, was why towns needed tough, uncompromising men of the law like himself. Still, that girl was pretty nifty with an arrow. Olad hoped she was going to stay in town a while. He was sure he could find a law broken by her and bring her along to the jailhouse for an interrogation session.

Returning to the madness before him, he spoke firmly. "I'm taking Smith to the jailhouse. For his own safety as much as for this disappearance." He raised his voice. "Any objections?"
