Captain Olad strode through the door. "No one" He paused, making sure he had the attention of the group as he pronounced every word. "Is going anywhere."
Captain Olad strode through the door. "No one" He paused, making sure he had the attention of the group as he pronounced every word. "Is going anywhere."
"And why is this?" Ecgleofu asked, stepping up to Olad. "We can point you to the only one who could have done anything wrong, and then I can be on my way, correct?" She stood up straight and looked him right in the eye.
That kind old lady stopped the rain for us.
She said it would only make us cold, and miserable, and sick.
We thanked her and hugged her and she walked away smiling warmly.
I miss the puddles...
Getting up from his bed, Jason fixed it up so that other people could use it and got dressed on for the day. He entered the main room where the commotion was going on with Captain Olad in the door opening. "What's going on here?" asked Jason, as he was curious. Break the rule, suffer from the punishment.
"What exactly is going on here?" Olad continued. "State your business."
Aevalaine turned to face Olad, smiling, "Well sir yeh see this man here had picked up a little girl last night in the inn. I heard some talk about missing girls that made me feel uneasy, and then saw him talking about how the girl was important teh him, and now the girl is missing. We were just askin where she might be."
Gark burst threw into the main room, yelling and pointing at Smith. "It was him Captain! Right from the start he insisted on bein' around the child an' demanded they room together!" Then he turned to look at Smith directly. "What have ye done with her, ye monster?" At this, the inn went into uproar.
Aevalaine tensed. On one hand, she had her suspicions about Smith. On the other, she knew that Gark had a reason to be angry other than the girl, who he had not seemed particularly concerned about the night before. She had a feeling Smith was hiding something-or many things, but she also did not trust Gark, and had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach about him as well. But all the evidence pointed towards Smith-his actions, his words, even his demeanor.
She backed away away from Smith as she saw one of the other men approaching with a sword. She took the bow off her back, and readied an arrow on its string, pointing it towards smith. "I think it's about time yeh explain some things. I approached yeh before and yeh evaded mah questions. Time to talk. I already know yer hiding plenty-i saw yeh talking with him. Think careful aboot what yeh choose to say...I know more then yeh think I do, I won't hesitate to let this fly," she looked pointedly at the sharp arrow "and I rarely miss."
Niel drew his swords out, a little late compared to others, but alert nonetheless. Theres too much accusations going on, but smith has my mark. But there are a lot of others here too...
"Captain..What do you say we do now...?" Niel said in a booming voice.
Niel could hardly look in the direction of the Olad without risking his head, so he tried to say it in his general direction. His short sword grip tightened at the tenseness going through the room.
Olad surveyed the scene. It seemed as though most people were frightened of this Smith character. That alone may be reason enough to arrest him. But to Olad, it seemed odd that a man intent on abducting or harming a child wouldn't do it in public. He scratched his chin thoughtfully.
"... and why, dear patrons, do you accuse this man?"
Aevalaine kept her arrow pointed at Smith and watched him out of the corner of her eye while she responded to Olad "First, because he was with the girl all night las night, slept in the same room with her too. Second because I seen him tell Gark that the girl was important to him, but woulda say why, and thirdly because he lives close to here and it isna the first time a girl's gone missing from this inn." She turned to face Gark, keeping her bow positioned "Although I wouldnda be surprised if Gark had a part in it as well. He didna care one bit about the girl last night, and today he is quick ta point the finger...I for one dinna give a dam about neither of them, but I do give a dam about what happened to the girl"
