"Thankya," Ecgleofu mumbled and swallowed the combination. It tasted bitter, but she took it all anyway.

"Anyway," she went on, "I think I'll be leaving again soon. I have places to be, and this was never meant to be any more than a stopover."

That kind old lady stopped the rain for us.
She said it would only make us cold, and miserable, and sick.
We thanked her and hugged her and she walked away smiling warmly.
    I miss the puddles...

Aevalaine nodded in agreement "Same. Although I would like to check on that little girl before I am on my way. Something about that was making me feel queasy."

"Well, do what you will. I suppose I don't need to leave quite yet." Ecgleofu wiped a lock of hair out of her eyes. She partly just wanted to talk to Aevalaine some more. She wondered if it would be at all possible to convince her to travel together, when they left... It would be a little less lonely, at the very least.

Luckily for Smith, he didn't get himself drunk last night, and he also got the best room in the entire inn. Apparently, telling the truth to the innkeeper got him at least a shred of respect here...

He noticed that Gweneal wasn't there, so he presumed that she had already went to his forge to rest. He was intending to go down there and give her the news. He was intending to leave this place, and he was hoping that the girl would accompany him--at least she wouldn't starve...

But what about that cat of hers? It seemed like it was her most prized possession...He would think about that later.

He quickly got all of his gear together--including the sword he always wore--and got down the stairs and into the common area. He had the intention to give Gark some extra gold for the trouble he took to give him and the girl such good accommodations the night before.

Aevalaine bent to put on her boots. "I appreciate it" she smiled, grunting as she pulled the 2nd boot on. For some reason she felt rest-ful around Ecgleofu, which was rare for her-most of the time she didn't bother with people, and people didn't bother with her-not to say she couldn't charm people when she had a reason to. If Gweneal had not been a child, she probably would have left her to her fate, no matter what vibes she had gotten off Smith, or what she had learned by reading his lips during his conversation with Gark.

She headed out the door. "Spose we'll find out what this is all aboot now..."

ughhh the headache is killing me... alcohol is not foreign to Niel, but it has it's limits...Niel walked outside his "accommodation", stretching from a rough night.

"Now, why was I given such a beggared sleep while they weren't...." Niel murmured.

Niel glared at this character named "smith" who seemed to be so privileged.

Aevalaine headed downstairs, Ecgleofu by her side. They entered the common area, and saw Niel standing a few feet away from "Smith". She looked around for Gweneal but she was no where to be seen.
This time she readied two sharp knives, hidden under the hem of each sleeve. She motioned to Ecgleofu to let her know to be ready. She walked up to Smith. "Where'd the little girl go?" She asked loudly, so those standing around could hear. "First they tell me girls are disappearing from her, then I see yeh taking a keen interest to the wee lass, saying that she is important to yeh at the moment and all...something isna right..."

Niel takes notice of the people from the inn last night. It seems this smith has a worse past then first thought lead to believe. Niel grips his long sword with his right hand, and his short sword with his left. In case of any sudden hostility...better to be prepared for the worst... to bad I am not wearing my armor....

"Smith" looked straight at Aevalaine. "I thought that she headed over to the forge. Besides, I would have thought that you would have seen her pass by...Have you?"

He kept his hand on his sword. He was getting this awful feeling that something wasn't right here, and he desperately hoped that things wouldn't result in a nasty fight.

"Well," he said to everyone listening, "It seems that the girl has disappeared during the night. We need to see if she's already at my forge or not. If she is, then there's no need to worry--All it means is that she's an early riser..."

His look of genuine concern showed that not only was he telling the truth, but also he was going about with the fullest intentions in trying to figure out what happened to the girl last night.

    Niel looked at Smith closely.

"I dont know what you're up to, but knowing these disappearances happening and you going over this girl like a parent then she disappears, I ought to think you would no more. " Niel stated.
Niel loosened his grip of the short sword.
"I dont like to handle things in the law, thats the guards job. I suggest we go to the forge and see who's there... If thats all right with the law. And we'll go from there... You wouldn't have a problem with this would you?"
