Default AgeII Idea End Game needs desperate help

I have played many games and even been involved with designing a few. I picked up Evony on the sole reason I could play it from work and still get work done.

The farming requirement of players is a huge turn off and the idea of players spending to curb that is never going to sit well. The free feed is a good idea and should be extended to once a month allowing players a personal life.

Also the end game and being able to attack other big players is in desperate need of a fix. Changing the battle mechanics so that say Mechanics (ballista, catapults) do not get wall bonuses on distance and only so many archers can fit in your walls to gain the bonus would help the mechanic while still allowing defense to be king in the early stages of the game.

Evony it is time for you to embrace change and player input or continue to have your growth slowed. I played AgeI for about 2 months 2 years ago and you where opening a server about every 5 days back then not every 5 weeks.

    Some good points.
My main issue when first starting out was that everything took so stinkin long!! Man, 5 minutes for a silly building to upgrade? And by the time it was upgrading to higher levels I had to wait hours or days? That was a HUGE turnoff. Especially when I was acustomed to Farmville and other popular games where I could build stuff quickly. Why even put times on builds? Just let players whip out their cities ASAP so they can engage in battles faster.
Also, yes, battle mechanics need to change. They need a major overhaul.Age II battle mechanics are basically the same as Age I and it makes for big problems because Age II environment and strategy is much different than Age I. How can the environment change so much but the way battles are fought remain the same? It is just asking for problems especially when it comes to battling over Historic Cities between rivals. HC's ovver big advantage and control an area. The way mechanics work is that defense is heavily favored. This creates a "Once owned always owned" scenario on the HC's which frustrates me and I can't be alone on that...
As for the farming, no need to farm in Age II. Troops don't die if no food. Besides, food was always a poor limiter. It just meant that those who farm the most win which basically means those who sleep less win. Last I checked this was not a sleeping contest....

You wanna know something? When the majority of internet users are acustomed to games like Farmville and Cityville and MafiaWars and whatever else Facebook pumps out.... do you think they can easily transition into a game like Evony Age I/II?? No, no they cannot. Because it is so different from what they are accustomed to.
If I ran a game company I would want to make a game that appeals to a very broad audience. And if most internet users are already conditioned to play games like Farmville/Cityville (Cityville which I enjoy playing) then why make something so different? Why not create a war game that allows the player to build up and at the same time not risk months and months of hard work if they choose not to? Ohhhhh..... Age II Na1-19... toot! toot!!!.

Wanna know what I did on the internet before Evony?

I spent all day looking for emulators, downloading some Bleach episodes, and research. That's it. No Facebook, no Youtube, no torrents, no MMOs, nothing.

The only games I ever played were stuff I either DL'd for the GBA/PS1 or the computer games I had beforehand. I didn't play any of these online.

Imagine my surprise when I clicked on that add in late July to find, no, not a **** game, but OMG MMORTS.

Wanna know what kept me? The risk. "Hey this game is fun... o,o I can lose my city over night??? OMG COOL LET'S STRIVE TO BE GOOD"

Also, I didn't even HAVE a Facebook until May 2010. I hated facebook. I still do. Just because you're accustomed to a certain type of game doesn't mean all of the ones advertised need to be JUST like it. If you like Farmville, go play Farmville. If you like civ sims, go play Cityville. If you like war strat sims, then play Evony. That simple.

If you're not 'accustomed' to a certain type of game... omg new concept coming here... DON'T PLAY IT.

Evony doesn't have to change their gameplay to fit YOUR needs or wants. Unless of course you run the business, then I guess that's fine. But you don't. So it's not.

Evony already DID change gameplay to fit my needs and wants. And I can't be alone.
You see, I hated Age I because of the massive exposure to risk of losing almost all of the time and money I invested into the game. So when Age II came out I was like, "Sweet!! I'm all over this!!" Because simpy put, Age II Na1-19 allow me to choose what cities I want to risk losing by owning or not owning an HC. The rest of my normal cities I can build them up at my leisure

With all the problems Evony Age1 has, its still the best online live game out there.

So, like Ric Flair use to say " Whether you like it, or dont. Its the best thing going today."
And here's my testimony, the week before I got into Evony I finally got my first ever video game console (A Sega Mega Drive that I paid $15 for at a pre-owned junk store, and 35 or so games for an extra $5), then one of my classmates at uni said "You should try this!"

And so we had a great system at the start, playing my Mega Drive all night at home, and Evony through all my lectures.
