Thread: Imagine This!!!

    Default Imagine This!!!

Can you imagine what it would have been like if there was no such thing as NPC farming? I mean imagine if the game worked in the following ways:

    • Players couldn't make NPCs (abandoning cities would mean a flat instead of an NPC)

    • The NPCs that would be around the server from the start would be much greater in defence than they usually are and have less resources.

    • NPCs attacking random players/alliances everyday at random times everyday and taking away as much resources as possible from players on successful attacks.

    And so on...

Imagine that was the gameplay instead. How would have things been? How would it affect the gameplay for everyone? Would you have played on for long or would you have left the game after a short while?

That would have been a terrible game. No-one would play it if it were like that. And I think that if the NPCs would have been allowed to attack the players, that any PvP features would have been removed.

I don't want to imagine that.
But, it might be interesting to add NPC that are more difficult to hit but have more resource of all types.

Would make things more interesting thats for sure, less threads about ppl whining about NPC's being removed.
Maybe this is how the game should have been, it would have been more like medieval times, which is what evony was based on.

i must disagree, however, this is just my personal opinion.

Without npc an entire alliance can single you out by teleporting 1 mile from all of your cities, and attacking you at the exact the same time, making defense impossible. The army may not be large, but players will resort to massive dead farming account in place of npc as an adapation to maintain a large army, and that is a given.

in short, you will see alot of 1 city dead account auto-pilot or not by a software all across the map, and would be worse than the npc issue, cause we can't cap and tele it.

This would force every player to resort to this messy multi account to creat a buffer zone to protect expose or weaker cities.

Npc attacking random players, may or may not be a good idea, but if they did, i would be able to exploit that option and level my pol hero even quicker.

    Default npcs...

my opininon is that if that were to be evony would be much harder ion the beggining and if they were to have less food then that'd mean players would iether not have much of an army and get whooped by npcs and other players or everyone would have to spend money to get boosts in the game wich would not be fun for the members who dont spend money like myself

True, as a result, players will be force to create multi account just to pass the managable setting to defend. Players won't be paying more money, maybe the coiners, but the none coiners will find this setting less appealing. If the none coiners or casual coiners which make up the majority of the player in evony loses interest of the game, it can drastically affect the overal outcome of the game, by lowering the numbers of active players.

Keep inmind, while coiners is what supports the game financially, its the none and casual coiners that keeps the coiners interest in the game. Both groups go hand in hand.

I might add, it is much easier and quicker to farm alternate that is set up for it without any loses compare that to an npc. All you need is cavs, having dozen upon dozens of alternate that can be farm within a few hours or less, provided it is not plunder by the npc can be harvested in a relatively shorter time. Those alternate will solely rely on none valley boost resources field, they may not be significant alone, but in clusters, they can re places npc.

lmao Beast... and Acer thinks I don't like ya.. ahhahaa

If all this was true - OP - then NPCs would replace the points on the map that certain players have that no-one wants to go near because they will get pwned. But those that do and defeat the incumbent end up rich.

Without massive NPC fed armies, the reward of farming a 10 successfully would definitely feel much bigger.
By making them not so farm friendly, they could even afford to up the drop rates on them.
As for Alts... well, peeps have them with NPC farms being there, they will have them without, but the size of an alt would get limited to what res fields can build in a day without having NPCs to farm. Much more manageable for honest players to attack/defend against.
