    Default Reinforcing Question

If you are being reinforced by someone in the alliance (mostly to help there troop upkeep) and they leave the alliance (for two days or so is the timeline).

And you get attacked by another alliance - will the old alliance members troops still defend your city or will they attack you as well?

So say i'm in alliance (a) -- and my alliance member briefly goes to alliance (b) -- and someone else from alliance (c) attacks me. Will i be attacked or not by my alliance members troops while he is briefly in another alliance?

wow now that's a good question, i'm not sure but i'd doubt they would help because they are not officially reinforcements anymore because they aren't from your alliance, don't know how the coding works though and never been in that situation, it's possible they would join in with the attackers side

    you should do an experiment
get reupped with 100 warriors have that player move to a friendly alliance
have an alliance mate get booted and send a 1 scout attack, if the 100 warriors die they joined the attackers side if they don't die you'd have to do a similar experiment with a near empty city

i have to say if they leave your alliance you should return their troops, they are (in effect) hostile troops ready to attack from within your city

these are pults, rams, and ballista - things that take forever to travel from his city to mine. Which is why i don't want to send them back - only for him to have to resend them.

Also why i don't want to experiment --- if i should be attacked by his troops it would hurt - alot i think.

i think you're right that it could hurt - a lot
keep your fingers crossed for now and i would suggest an experiment (maybe in a different city) if you want to know for sure because this is a unique situation and you may not get an answer, also keep in mind that any answer you get may not be correct even if it's stated from experience. evony makes changes to the way things like this work and they don't tell anyone the details of their tinkering

i think most people would return the troops just in case they join in on attack, i know i would

Well this may be somewhat on topic. If you rein a member and then drop alliance and hit them yourself those troops will be used in fight. Not sure if they would be used if someone else tried to attack them. I can see it going either way.

Yes your allies troops will help you defend. They will leave if they run out of food, or if they attack if that person attacks you.

@foxy if city they rein u gets capped then the troops disapear

@BS if you attack person that reined you, then they will still remain defending you... but that's just harsh

I'm saying that if you rein a fellow alliance member and then drop alliance and attack that person your troops will be used in the attack against him instead of to defend the rein'ed player.

I've seen player do this to his host before, after host was learned to be a traitor, and there was 1.1mil troops on the attacking side because of it.

Rather spectacular hit wish i still had it because i would post.

yeah i've seen it happen where if the person who's troops you have reinforced in your city - those troops attack you.

but my friend wouldn't attack me - i'm 100% positive of it...

i'm worried about someone else attacking me and having my friends troops attack me at the same time as well just because my friend currently isn't in my alliance..

I would like to confirm that those troops reinforcing you will defend FOR you. Did this experiment a few months ago, so it is current to sometime in December I believe. Unless things changed since then, this is still the case.

PS: Prod was right there. I'm just corroborating him.

PPS: there was a hero with reinforcing troops. And obviously the attacker sends a hero too, if that is what causes the battle to swing then that might be so. Of course the attacker cannot have 2 heroes working for him
