You see it in other games, too. Even items that bare no game-impact become worth real cash.

It's the culture of the game, and while evony cannot moderate what they cannot see, they also cannot be blamed for that which is a product of the culture.
Ummm, HCs are being sold as well. I've had several members of both my then alliance and actually an ENEMY alliance offer to sell me 14s for $40 on NA21.

Had another person try to sell me their account with several HHs, 3 HCs (2 12s and a 14) for $100.

There was an entire alliance on NA21 that sold off most of their HCs and HHs to go then spend that money on trying to set a new record for how fast they could defeat Atlantis on another server.

It was rampant, all over world chat, mails, etc.

At this point parts of Evony TOS could be considered Null and Void for the simple reason that they are not enforced. Inequal on non-existant enforcement can lead to contract nullification.

enforcing the game (TOS) is a huge problem for evony right now, i wrote a thread about having an evony spy on each server to see whats happening on the shop floor. if evony had spies/agents secretly playing among us they would catch a lot of people for a lot of different things and also prevent people from breaking the TOS in the first place.

a shop without a security gaurd is an easier target for a shoplifter than a shop with a security gaurd.

Yeah, I agree that the way people trade things such as heroes, accts, and HC are completely wrong. Not only illegal, it makes it a pain to play and establishes somewhat of a black-market in evony game play. A normal player will work for that HC, when another player will simply but it for I dunno, 50 bucks. It's just not right.
