What is your definition of the truth?
And don't say the dictionary definition.
I know I could have made a better thread. Posting relevant info, posting examples, etc. But I'm lazy and you should all know that, so assume I did.

Reality is subjective. Reality then is fantasy. Truths define reality. Truths are subjective. Truths are lies.
No. People exist in reality but reality is fantasy. So, there are no other people. I am alone as a thinker. All other personalities are constructs of mine to fill the void.
I've always felt that truth is a belief or an intent. If someone believes they are telling you the truth, the intent and emotion is there. Whether it is false or not then becomes irrelevant, at least in my own twisted mind![]()

Truth is much like justice, dependent on viewpoint, on what you know.
Its all about perspective, as it always is.
Agreed.
But truth also often has beauty and grandeur, though that doesn't change it's relativistic, subjective nature.
I find truth and honesty go hand in hand. And not just honesty in statements made or in inter-personal relations. But also honesty in perceptions and judgements made. Perhaps the most important application of honesty is to be honest with oneself. And that's not easy. The truth hurts...
But seeing the world, and ourselves in it, as honestly as one can is, I believe, the only sane way to live, no matter how much it can hurt or dishearten us. Too often I have seen people refusing to do this, even going so far as to live lives that were no more than an endless succession of cheatings and masquarades. Such lives are, to me, wasted lives.
In other words (and to get to the point), truth, no matter how subjective, is still the only beacon to navigate the ship of our lives towards, in my opinion.
