    Default Letters to Juliet

So, I just finished watching the movie, and I was wondering, how many people believe in true love? Is it just some great myth that has been passed down since the dawn of time? Or is it something special?

I know, it's not your ordinary OT thread, OT is not normal.

    Just wondering

True love will exist as long as there are oblivious people in the world.

Platonic "love" is my best guess.

As for me, I'm not convinced. I don't think there's true love, but what would I know about it?

I believe I already covered this topic.

True love is a psychological condition.

Love is nothing more than pheromones, hormones, and false hopes.

Love is a feeling. Feelings are real. Thus love is real. How someone feels should never be discredited or downplayed.
There are different types of love just as there are different types of feelings.
Love between friends. Love between family. Love between parent and child. Love between man and woman. Love between man and man. Love between woman and woman. Love between human and non-human.
"True love" is a false statement. Every love is true because every feeling is true. There is no such thing as fake or false feelings. But again, feelings change and evolve.

I think the term true love is generally misinterpretted. True, meaning truth. Meaning if you say I love you to a person, and you not only truly mean it but truly feel that you are in love, then it is a true and just phrase to say.
Most people think of true love as being a really real type of love, quite possibly the only REAL love. Better than infatuation, puppy love, or lust, but something REAL. Something that can never be lost, forgotten, or broken. If I were to think about it this way then I would agree that it is indeed a myth.. But since is interpret the way I do, I most certainly believe it is attainable.

The wheels of survival are greased more readily by easy lies than hard truths.

In my opinion, true love or a love that is chaste and spiritual [The Platonic concept of love] has no basis in reality. The "love" between individuals quickly degenerates into immoderate passions and excess.

Since man as a whole or in a collective sense is a wicked, lascivious and vulgar animal, pure love cannot be achieved.

How did you come to grace this Earth if your parents hadn't been so "vulgar" with each other? There'd be nobody left if everybody was in platonic relationships with each other.
