Well, for mech and archer waves, I suggest a CD (compact defense). It basically forces arch and mech to face your whole army at once, instead of them picking off types off troops one at a time. The only downside is, an Jaq attack will destroy it. I dunno how to defend against those besides a standard 5k defense. TO have a CD you need some cav and cats in your city (they die most of time, but other troops are generally unharmed), and nothing on you walls but ATs and logs. NOTHING ELSE.
Now, as to scout bombs, you need a type of troop that when all their attacks are put together, they have a higher attack score than you arch. This will make the scouts target that troop group and not your arch. For example, if I send a scout bomb and you have 100k pike and 100k arch, the scouts would hit the pikes because pikes have higher attack than arch. By hitting the pikes, the scouts would only kill 8-10k of them because the pikes are close combat troops,instead of killing 20-30k arch.
